A lot of third parties have bought a ton of seats up.

My seat in the CF, as it has been most of the season, is empty today. Struggling to justify the ~£70-100 travel and day out costs despite having the ticket already paid for.

Mine is not used as I find it difficult to get from Lincoln as no transport
Trains are so unreliable
Would have to pay for overnight stay
Also cost would be £100 per game or so

I’ve offered my seat back due to overseas commitments

Clearly Season ticket holders didn't bother turning up reselling. Too cold for them probably and miserable at whats been served up by a squad that should be producing more.

Just a bit peeed off seeing all the empty seats and there was no way of buying any..... Looking at the rest of the fixtures this season they're all sold out and have been for a while.

I noticed the same today. A lot of fans are fed up and finding other things to do. I must admit to wobbling a little when asked if I was going on. I didn’t feel like it at all. That sinking feeling when they equalised knowing full well a winner was coming immediately had me wishing I’d not bothered.

Yesterday was the first time I can recall them actually advertising the exchange, when they announced to after the final whistle

We have lots of supporters who travel from all parts of the UK up to Turf Moor, using public transport. Rail strikes haven’t helped and yesterday’s rail replacement service may have put people off.
I have missed a few games when train strikes have made it nigh on impossible to get up to Burnley and back in a single day. I have always managed to give my ticket away though when I have been absent.
The way things are on the pitch at the moment, I bet quite a few got up yesterday morning, or even decided on Friday that they couldn’t be arsed.

Between the 5 of us, due to holidays & work, I think there’s only been 2 matches this season where we’ve all been on, but those tickets have been reused by friends.

The thing with the exchange scheme is that if you want a ticket you need to keep checking and as the OP says the tickets aren’t together when they are available

You'd think they would push it everywhere to fill the ground as much as possible for more food sales, better atmosphere etc.

Was going to put the same. I also thought though that there was only a couple of thousand left in the ground when they put it on, so probably not the best timing.

In the week leading up to games there's been tickets available for every game this season and that will be the same for all forthcoming games. You just have to keep checking the ticket site regularly.

That’s the issue though

If you are a “casual supporter” and not aware of the exchange scheme then you’d look a the ticket page maybe 2 weeks ahead of the game, see it’s sold out and because of that then not bother checking again because you don’t know some have been returned

You stay at home on cold days? You must get great value for money from your season ticket. Maybe next time you buy one, remind yourself that most of our games are played in the autumn and winter months, not summer.

Also, cold bright days, like yesterday when there's hardly any wind, aren't much of a problem if you wear adequate winter clothing. Much better than the freezing cold days, when there's a biting wind full of sleet.

As someone who has to travel over 250 miles round trip to get to a game at Turf Moor the value of my season ticket is that I can come to any game I feel like and stand in front of my preferred seat, I maintain my place in the top priority tier for away tickets and, as the cost of my season ticket is only a marginal cost factor in deciding whether to attend a game, the cost is reasonable and represents good value for me.

Yes I was doing that right up to friday afternoon - and yes there were tickets available but hey were mainly singles and scattered all over - I need to 3/4 together, 2 were teenagers. How does the ticket exchange work ? - I thought they were just re-advertised on the ticket page? I was willing to pay full price and we always spend a fortune at the kiosks / program etc. I live in York so we can't just drive over on the off chance.....

There were definitely 4 together showing in a couple of stands on Friday. The seats which ST holders can't use are returned to the Club and then those seats are made available on the online seating plan.

Not yet available for the Cricketfield Stand, I believe. I did ask the club earlier this season.

It is slightly ridiculous in that they will let me give the ticket to my son, and accept the extra payment (senior to adult), or a friend, or even someone who asks me for it but won't officially allow me to put it up for the ticket exchange scheme.

It will get easier, no one’s paying £40/50 if this continues all season.
