Hopefully someone will know the answer to this.
1. Have we ever won 5-0 before and had 5 different goal scorers?
2. Has a team ever won a game 5-0 in the PL and ended up going down in the same season?

I can't answer question 2, but I can say without doubt that yes, we will go down.

Is this our biggest ever PL win? I think it is.

Beat MK Dons with 5 different scorers Vokes, Boyd, Gray, Barton and Lowton.
I’ll answer the second one at the end of the season.

I (sadly) think we're a basket case in terms of survival, but I will say that we'll finish above that shower of utter dross we played today. We're a good side who aren't quite (yet) good enough for the PL. They're just absolutely bloody dreadful.

Strangely, I get where you are coming from... except I think (hope) we'll have just enough about us to avoid the drop.

Has a team bottom of the league ever won 5-0?

Someones just pointed out on the Daily Mail that the 4 assists were all seperate players too.
9 contributions from one team in a game!

Yes. We have beaten both Bournemouth & Wolves by 4 but never had a 5 goal winning margin in the PL. But of course football didn't start in 1992 & we've had plenty of top flight victories by 5 & more goals.

The worry still lingers that two of the Sheffield United chances today would have been scored by many sides in the Prem.

We’re a basket case and a good side in the same post. Thanks for bestowing that opinion on us.
Maybe just get behind the team.

That's YOUR worry. You do not represent this forum or the whole fan base.

Fairly obvious they had some presentable chances that would have been taken by better sides in the Prem.

I tried to imply that I believe we're a very good side in many ways, but we've been found wanting when it comes to actually taking points in the most testing league in the world. Last week was a great example. We played really well and I actually enjoyed our performance, but we came second. Today was essentially (as my mate in the pub just said) to all intents and purposes a Championship game and we were utterly superior.

Not an answer to the exact question 2, but similar.
In 1965/66 in the old division1 a team beat Northampton 6 - 1 and finished bottom with only 20 points.
Don’t want to mention the name of the team but they did lose 3 - 1 today

Teams concede chances and teams (even in the prem) miss chances every week. Don't let the negative Nelly's get you down. Today is as good as it gets *league position out of the equation

Can’t really disagree with your mate, but pleased to say that will be one of the better teams we’ll face in the Championship next season and we utterly battered them. So maybe we’ll all get behind this team now…

Apparently yes. Funnily enough Sheffield United beat Bolton 5-0 when they were bottom

1. Burnley 5-0 Nottm Forest 2009 - Blake, Elliott, Carlisle, Rodriguez, Gudjonsson
2. Yes happened 5 or 6 times in PL era, I had researched and typed each game out but by the time I had finished I had been logged out of UTC and deleted my post so I cannot be bothered doing it again.

I think Newcastle beat someone 8-0 when they were bottom, just after Bobby Robson took over. Shearer scored five.

Got to love this forum. So many bottlers resigned to relegation in November. Glad you’re not on my team. Absolutely no fight.

When Newcastle won 8-0 at Sheffield United this season they had eight different goalscorers.
