According to Burnley FC, the attendance was 21488.

Both overestimated. Lots .of empty seats.

I've never understood why it takes days for it to be announced.

But the vast majority of those will be due to non-attendance of ST holders and those are counted in the attendance/gate figure.

Indeed. I did not attend but as far as BFC are concerned the seat is paid for, therefore sold, whether I attend or not.

They need to fit a sensor to each seat to see which has a backside on it (this may not work in the CFS). I've given up trying to get hold of tickets as I can't get 4 together.... however on matchday there's plenty of empty seats which is annoying.

Official attendances don't mean a thing now. It should go on turnstile clicks, actual bums on seats. But it doesn't. It counts non-attendees. Shame really, because checking the gate was a traditional part of the whole matchday experience for me, wether i was there or not.

There was plenty of 4s together, available for the Everton game on Tuesday, when the club put their unused tickets on sale.

There were a few unsold seats on the website but they were scattered around the ground, so wouldn't stick out.

It's pretty easy to count turnstile clicks. It's worked that way for the past 100 years.
