What position is Mike Tresor supposed to play in, a lot of people suggesting left wing, I thought he was supposed to be more odf a number 10?

Both.
Most foreign players new to the league need time to bed in. Keep the faith he will come good.

Left Wing or 10. Thought he’d be one of the best signings. The polar opposite so far.

He will come good I’m convinced of that.
Think he will take up Luca’s position on the left now.

I know hes not had a lot of game time but what ive seen so far has not really impressed me that much, couple of nice touches maybe but Belgian player of the year?

At any other club nobody would bat an eye lid at players taking time to settle, but our club hasn't got the players to perform while the new ones bed in.
What I do like about Tresor is though, he tries to give passes that are easy for the receiver. A yard in front to keep their momentum, where as most of our players play it to feet or behind to be safe

He started at Arsenal and thought he was poor-not showing up for the ball, not chasing back and giving the ball away too easily. However I have seen a number of glimpses of what he can do when he has come off the bench. He has not had a lot of game time but I think like Foster did, he will really show his true worth soon and shine

Hasn’t been given many minutes on the pitch, but I think his languid style gives the wrong impression. Given a run in the side I’m sure we’ll benefit from the undoubted talent that he possesses!

It's a funny one with Tresor...I don't think he's a winger. He might have played from the left in Belgium but not as a winger but as more of a left forward (a bit like Brereton-Diaz, if you will). Whenever he comes on he seems incapable of holding any width and giving us the outlet that we need and constantly drifts inside. This suggests he might need to play a bit more centrally in this current set-up as we really need our wingers to give us width. I wouldn't mind seeing him playing as one of the front two.

Think he needs a team around him and definitely a good striker to feed balls into.
Koleosho can keep making runs by himself and doesn't really need a teammate to play a ball to. Tresor is the guy that loves a one - two. You see he loves playing with Amdouni, they find each other and try to weave their way through defenders with good controls and short passes. Smart running off the ball.
Tresor loves to swing a good cross in. But where are the strikers in the box? At Genk he had 2m tall Paul Onuachu as a target. Not that he needs a targetman but some movement around him to play with would be a good step in the right direction.
Most of all he just needs to play. He looked good vs Sheffield and Wolves.

I like him, I like the little 5-10 yard passes he keeps trying to squeeze through into danger areas instead of recycling. I just don’t think we’re quite reading it yet.
But I haven’t really seen him beat his man yet and most crosses and corners have been under hit.

I'm sure he put a great corner in against Wolves which we won another corner from?
I was surprised as our corners have been absolute bobbins all season.

Trésor's demeanour is probably giving off the wrong impression to some people, he just has that sort of casual, laid back appearance but I'm sure given more time his class will shine through, also with the high fee he's going to (rightly or wrongly) have to do more to win the approval of some.
Put some wicked balls in against Sheff U - lots of whip/dip and pace, different sort of player than what we have but I think will come good for us.

Its ok to be laid back, but letting opposition players trot past you is really not ok.
Vincent famously said he likes his players to be able to run- well, Mike is unfortunately not fitting that profile.
Perhaps he's on extra fitness training.

I am sure there is a player in Tresor but there are quite a few examples of players of his ilk not adapting to English football.
He's clearly got quality - he moves around the pitch like a proper player and clearly has lovely feel and balance. But he doesn't particularly carry the ball with purpose or pace, and he doesn't commit defenders. He needs runners off him of the sort we don't have, which is fixable, but the amount of time he wants on the ball is a bigger problem. Hopefully he adapts.
For now though, he looks like an ill-conceived signing at the money we paid for him. He clearly prefers the left side, and so it would seem do Koleosho, Redmond, Odobert, Zaroury and possibly Brunn Larsen. He's not showing any more than any of them have right now. With the exception of Odbert the risk/return equation on those players looks much better and the money feels as though it could have been better spent on balancing the squad.

Not been impressed with Tresor at all so far. Looks lazy and weak with some amazing skill, but in this league you need to work your backside off. Even City players do that.
Until he puts the graft in, he can stay on the bench for me.
I’d like more of a look at Odobert in LW.

The problem surely is we have so many wingers we can’t play them all and that also creates a dilemma in itself that how will they improve , settle in etc when getting sporadic game time

It might be your memory more than Tresor's "embarrassing" performances. He did great in the build up to Brownhills goal in the 5-0 win vs Sheffield . Weaving past players and passing the ball to Obafemi who could give it to Josh.

Judging from highlights one of the reasons he got so many assists last season was due to his set piece taking.

You keep saying this but I don’t see it, I thought he spent most of his time at Wolves playing like a left back defending. Did a brilliant bit of defending too.

Seems a different kind of player to Koleosho. So far he doesn't seem like the type that will run down the wing and stretch play. More he would take advantage of space created by others, similar to Amdouni. I think Tresor would play better on the left when we have someone on the right like Benson stretching play.

Doesn’t look like he can beat a man and in some games he’s been slipping and falling all over the place. However I do see some quality in him, I think he’s the one out of them all who Im less confident in being a success here.

It looks like he is still finding his feet. As Kompany has alluded to several times the players have to retain a lot of information about their role which they then have to take onto the pitch.
Earlier in the season I have noticed several players when we have been out of possession constantly looking around to see if they were in the right position. Berge and Vitinho are 2 examples that come to mind but today both look far more assured in their roles.
I also noticed that Bruun Larsen seemed a little lost for the first 10 minutes against Sheffield Utd but he adapted very quickly.
Hopefully Tresor will come good as I think there is a very talented footballer in there. I see his skillset being more suited to a number 10 role but I can't see him replacing Amdouni anytime soon.
It may take him a little more time to learn his role than some of the others. I have been disappointed in his limited performances so far but I think that my expectations may be a little too high given his limited game time.

He hasn't impressed me at all, genuinely can't think of a single thing he's done that made me take notice, won a couple of corners and that's about it.
He doesn't look like an attacking orthodox winger, doesn't look robust enough for an up-down wideman like we had under Dyche, doesn't look like he's got the goal threat for an inverted winger, doesn't seem to have the clever play, movement or off the shoulder threat to be the central man like Brownhill last season or offset like Amdouni this season, doesn't have the physicality for a CM playmaker. If I had to say what his position looks like to me, it'd be a half-and-half attacking mid inbetween winger and CAM, or a false-ten ala Ozil, in a narrow 4222 or a 4321. We don't play either and even then I'm not sure.
Really, really hope he comes good but just not seeing it at the minute, would be back of the long queue of wingers for me I'd even throw Churlinov in first he's contributed to goals for the U21s. Hope I see what Kompany sees in him soon.

I think he’s shown flashes (similar to foster last season).
Theres definitely talent there but for one reason or another he’s just struggling to adapt (which is really common for new players in this country).
I think we have a top player on our hands but he will more than likely take 6-12 months to settle.
My owner downer on this signing is I think the funds should have been prioritised on someone more ready to fire in potentially a different position.

Oh yeah. Forgive me.
That fantastic bit of play against a Sheffield team that had thrown the towel in before the game had even started and clearly wanted rid of their manager.
