Hope I’m wrong, but I can’t see where the goals are coming from. I would be delighted for someone to repost this message if we now win 3-0!

Can't say I'm happy with that team.
I said he wouldn't play Ekdal. Kompany just doesn't rate him for some reason, he's always been on the bench if there's been someone else available.
Larsen getting dropped is a joke too frankly. He wasn't good against Wolves (huge part down to being switched left) but was very effective against Sheffield and has generally looked like he can make things happen from the right, and Gudmundsson, experienced, savvy and creative though he is, is so blatantly lacking in the dynamism needed and more a CM than winger nowadays that it's a broken record to reiterate it. Seems that for some players it's 1 sub-par performance and you're done, but for others they may as well be engraved on the teamsheet.
Wouldn't have thrown Odobert in. I know he has had a goal and is similar to Koleosho but he's even more raw and doesn't offer much support to his fullback, would rather have given Zaroury another chance who also has oly had the one game.
No sign of Obafemi again, is he reinjured?
Not confident. Hope it's like when I said Jay wouldn't score vs Sheffield so I'm gonna say "nobody's going to score we'll get thumped 3-0" in the hope I'm once again proved wrong.

Odobert will be playing against Milner - so I get that choice.
Brun Larsen will be knackered - so agree with that too
Ekdal is the one I may have gone the other way
The rest of the team is uncontroversial

That team has goals written all over it , sadly for Brighton.

Ekdal should start every game if he's fit.

It seems to me that he picks Trafford then puts all the other names in a lottery draw

Said it the other night, Ekdal looked rusty but a run of games he’d be our best CB. Won’t have the chance to get rid of the rust as VK will bring Beyer back in alongside OShea.
Only way I see JBG having any effect today is if he plays just in front of the midfield two, and Amdouni plays as an inside forward on the right, but we all know that won’t happen.

Think he's got the wingers right. We look a tougher side with Gudmondsson playing and we needed to replace Koloesho with one of the pacy lads.
I like Ekdal but don't see all the fuss about him. He's barely played for us and some have decided he's first name on the teamsheet.

Ekdal played the full game mid week, after months without a game. I’d bet he’s been advised not to start him two games in 5 days. Or he rates O’Shea higher which I’d be surprised with.

I agree with you that Ekdal was unlikely to play but he’s got himself above Delcroix & Al-Dakhil.
I’d have been surprised had he left JBL in to be honest.
Obafemi - yes he’s injured.

Ekdal is coming back from a long term injury, not a chance he was starting today!

Based on our knowledge, logic is our only option and thus I think you're almost certainly right, KRBFC. Unfortunately, CBs either start and play 90 minutes or sit it out.

What’s the news on Obafemi? Missing a striker that can run in behind - think I’d have preferred Redmond over one of Jay/Amdouni - not sure that partnership will work but happy to be wrong.
Let’s hope this is a breakout game for young Wilson - clearly got bags of talent, different types of player than Luca think Wilson is more of a goal threat.

I thought JBL was rubbish against Wolves on both flanks, I’m not a fan of Gudmundsson really but he did create our best chance at Wolves.

Another that’s surprised Ekdal isn’t starting. Also JBL should be ahead of JBG imo. I’d be over the moon with a point but that selection doesn’t inspire me unfortunately.

And Gudmundsson does offer some experience and defensive work, not sure we can afford two wingers who don’t track back.

JBG is the only one on our team that can put in a decent cross, it seems. I have no clue why he doesn’t take our corners.
That said, he’s not much of a threat to score on his own and can be pushed off the ball pretty easily. I’d rather see JBL, personally.

I think most would prefer JBL over Gudmundsson because JBG is a steady Eddie type, quite a boring pick but we do seem to play well with Gudmundsson typically. I like Gudmundsson more in that central role last season.

Jeez, lasted all of 5 minutes.
Feel like we need 2 strikers in January at this rate. If Foster's available by then he won't be because of AFCON.

Same. A central playmaker who can drift wide to put in a cross, hover round the edge of the box to help attacks, or slot in at fullback if one inverts. Looked good in that role and with his lack of pace seems more natural for him now.

If we see him that will be good because we'll have killed the game.

Yep me too. Much prefer pace in wide areas. JBG is more effective centrally. But I suppose its logical to protect vitinho a little down that side and you'd hope he'd offer a little ahead of JBG on occasion. Personally if have maybe dropped Jay or Amdouni, played JBG in centrally with berge and brownhill then put perhaps Ramsay or Tresor wider right
