Re: Trafford
Well, I've been as critical of him as anyone, but a fabulous display today.
It's one more point than I thought we'd get.

Absolutely incredible performance in the second half. Incredible!
Well done, Traff!!

Re: Trafford
One of the best in the world at the moment but keep talking about how he's one of the worst goalkeepers ever to play for Burnley.
What a guy.

Made some great saves to keep us in it at the death.
Also made some terrible passes.
The point remains - if we want to maximise his attributes then VK needs to change the playstyle and the way we build ups
It’s not about being overtly emotional “gotcha” takes it’s the facts.
10 saves - phenomenal
35% accurate passing - torrid

8/10 for me, good performance. Couple of good saves and a lot of routine ones. Kicking was woeful again and not convincing on some of the crosses he went for.

Re: Trafford
His distribution was shocking but at the most important thing- saving shots- especially in the second half he made some superb saves to keep us in it. Excellent shot stopping performance, not a ball playing keeper but he will be a top top stopper, next Pope for sure.

Agree, we need to change the tactics. Stop playing from our own half.

I’ve had pelters today for slagging him off ,his saves have definitely won us a point but you’ve hit the nail on the head,no doubt you’ll get crucified as well.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 5:01 pmMade some great saves to keep us in it at the death.

This is correct. Fantastic shot stopping but made some horrendous passes. He done 3 in a row straight Dinks to their midfielder which could have cost us. Also was suspect in the air, flapped at a couple of crosses.
Re: Trafford
That’s an awful stat though, he was booting it long to Redmond. Rodriguez simply isn’t offering a real target atm either. There was a couple of kicks into midfield which were poor but only because Rodriguez wasn’t dropping to collect.

Re: Trafford
One of the best in the world? You honestly must be related to him.
Literally nobody has ever said he's one of the worst keepers to play for us either, except maybe 1 or 2, possibly the "Foster's pony" fella.
He had a fantastic stopper performance today, won us that point with those 2nd half saves especially in the last 15 minutes or so when everyone else was flagging. Anyone who can't admit that is delusional. But excess praise is no more helpful than excess criticism.

Re: Trafford
Tbf I think his quick distribution on the ground is pretty good. He struggles more when he has to lift it accurately. 3 absolutely top drawer saves today though.
Though Vitinho was very good too

Re: Trafford
According to many of the pundits Burnley’s biggest failing is overplaying creating dangerous situations, but presumably that is down to the manager and coaching staff.

Been immense all season ..lots on here can't see that....Muric who?
Well played James ..keep improving lots more to come yet.

Re: Trafford
Making massive improvements, at half time I was thinking who was warranting of MOTM, probably Odobert. But that second half and some of the saves makes him my MOM today.
It is still worrying how often his longer kicks are basically possession lost, not saying it is entirely his fault, sometimes the hold play is poor, but a few times he is at fault.
The ball in the first half aimed at JBG was Muric'esque, and last season with the likes of Tella running on to them, or even if JBL was there, that would have been brought down and a chance through on goal.

Re: Trafford
I thought he should have come for the cross to stop the goal. Hopefully this will boost his confidence. He was smiling at the end.
Re: Trafford
It only means he gave the ball away 65% of the time,VK’s build a team out of stats .Robbie_painter wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 5:09 pmHow about sticking your percentages up your arse and giving the lad a bit of credit? Well done traff, gained us a much needed point today.
Re: Trafford
Once he gets called up you will. He's by far the most underrated Burnley player. These kind of performances are to expect from him. He needed to adjust to the league the same as all the rest of our players. If he can keep making progress the way he's doing now he's going to win us alot more games.

Re: Trafford
It was the same in the first half though.
The point still stands. The distribution is chalk and cheese.
If we want a lad that can make reactionary saves behind a deep back four (which then turned into a back five) then yeah great!
Then I’d have to ask - we’re not playing this visionary ‘sexy football’ are we.
Telling that we’ve played our best stuff 4-4-2 and finally got a point away in the PL playing 18 mins 5-4-1.

Re: Trafford
Well, we went for him because Brighton signed the one we wanted, and he hasn't impressed me at all when I have watched them. He is good with his feet but flaps at almost every cross and got away with one today because they got a foul from somewhere, where I don't know. I think Trafford will turn out the best of the two.

Unreal today I’ll give him that. Gained us a point.
But… doesn’t change the fact hes been stinking the place out all season.
Hopefully a huge confidence boost for him and the start of some better performances like today.
