Was watching a stream of the game. Looks very serious. Hope he is okay. Went down off the ball and they were working on him for a good while before he was stretchered away.

That’s great to hear - not had a further update on the radio, in the car.

Play abandoned at Bournemouth
Bournemouth 1-1 Luton

Understandably, referee Simon Hooper has taken the decision to abandon the game at the Vitality Stadium following a collapse by Luton Town captain Tom Lockyer near the centre circle.

The clock was stopped in the 65th minute and players were sent down the tunnel.

Lockyer was given medical attention and treatment on the pitch before being taken off on a stretcher to a round of applause from fans.

He was said to be "alert and responsive in the tunnel".

The game was 1-1 when it ended.

Play off final. Understand he was treated for atrial fibrillation.

Yes, don’t think we’ll see him play again for a while and this may end his playing days.

Glad to hear the update. Wish him and his family the best. It must’ve been hell seeing him fall in that manner.

They will probably play the remaining mins at a later date?

Tom will likely retire after this

Poor guy I don’t think he should be playing football after that. Did they not do any proper scans the last time?

This is more relevant that the score today.

Hope he is ok and thoughts are with him.

Needs to retire now, 2 cardiac arrest in a few months there’s something not right and the Doctors who passed him fit to play need sacking off !

Lots of stuff on social media about if it’s the covid vaccine but that’s jibber jabber.

Hopefully they can give him a role coaching to keep him at the club.

He had an operation after the last one and was then cleared as fit to play

Before today, he’s only missed two games and played nearly every min of the others

He probably needs to retire now though, it just isn’t worth the risk

There’s not a chance he continues playing after two of those incidents. He’s 29 and life is more important. I’m sure he’s fulfilled his dream of playing in the Premier League so it’s time he moves into coaching.

I really hope he’s okay.

The type of character every supporter loves, real 100% player. Wish him well, health is far more important than football.

Good news that he seems to be ok.

Obviously a worry with this being the second time he’s had a problem.
Hopefully he’ll make the right decision, what ever it may be.

Latest from Luton:

While our captain Tom Lockyer remains in hospital following the cardiac arrest he suffered on the pitch at Bournemouth yesterday, we understand that supporters are concerned for him and that there is widespread media interest in his condition.

Tom is still undergoing tests and scans, and is awaiting the results before the next steps for his recovery are determined.

We are unable to provide a running commentary on his situation, and request that all media please wait for any updates to be released via the club’s official channels when the time is right.

We all want the very best for Tom, his partner Taylor and the whole Lockyer family, and politely ask that his and their privacy is respected at this difficult time.

I think the decision may well not be his now. I’d imagine he will struggle to get insurance to carry on even if the docs say it’s ok.

Can only wish him all the best in his recovery. 🤞🏻
