Heard there’s been lots of trouble in the stands ? Anyone see anything ?

Rumours of a big group in the JH stand celebrating when they scored the 2nd ?

Also seeing things on social media about them attacking old men in the Jimmy Mac ?

The club need to do something to stop away fans getting hold of tickets in the home end so easily, it’s becoming a regular occurrence and one that will lead to serious incidents.

Going by some of the comments on this forum there’s plenty of Everton fans in here aswell.

It kicked off, lots of kids nearby were screaming. One steward helped by about 8 more after 5 mins or so.

Easy to stop but performance on and off the pitch is poor

If this is true then genuinely think someone at the club needs sacking.

It’s been happening all season and seemingly nothing is done to stop it.

Absolutely they'll be a few "Burnley fans" will have enjoyed that today.

There were about 20 of them being removed from the JHU close to the JM corner

There were also some in the boxes of the JH celebrating but as they have paid a premium they got to stay

nothing can be done regarding away fans celebrating in the box
they are advised not to, but all do - usually though the clientele are behaved and only cheering

Today I'm fuming and embarrassed by the club.

I sit, with my 10yr old near what happened in the jhu.
As said around 20 lads from Everton in there taking the ****.
The stewards could get them out for what felt like an eternity. Scuffles breaking out, kids getting caught up in it.

This all stinks (to me) of the club money grabbing through the re-sale and selling to anyone.

Bloke if front picked his little girl up and left.
Others were having to do the same.

This has been coming. West ham had fans in who were well behaved but to night was a joke.
The club will no doubt get numerous complaints and I'd say people will be asking for ticket money back.
It was genuinely unsafe in that top corner tonight. No question.
Very poor from the club.

They are always away fans in the corporate area in the Jimmy Mac lower. I don’t think the club cares about who is in the stands as long as they are getting money out of them. Minimum stewards, minimum police and away fans in the stand means more money.

The time it took for the stewards to adequatly react was just too late, it could have ended up far far worse. There were rumours of more trouble in teh concourse and toilets, but no idea if tehre is any truth to that.

I absolutely agree the club has a responsibility to it's own fans to try and get a grip on this.

I was in the corporates tonight (very nice) in the JH stand and there were absolutely tons of them.

My favourite moment was Peter Reid (yes, the Peter Reid) calling a Burnley fan “A ******* Nob”. I realise corporates often have fans from other clubs but they were being inflammatory with their lovely Scouse ‘banter’ and doing everything they could to provoke a rise.

Lovely people.

I once launched a man city fan who was jumping about bumping his chest after the game when they scored late on to win. To this day I’m embarrassed about my behaviour, emotion set in and I was completely out of order, if I could turn back time I would. It’s only football

Another thing that the club got spectacularly wrong to start the year.

Having tickets for sale for every home game that has 1000% allowed third parties to buy them en masse.

Amateur hour stuff - the cynic in me says it was to raise as much liquid capital as possible to finance some transfers? We will never know though…

About 4 or 5 sat right behind the Everton dug out on the first row- how do they even get seats like that?

The Everton fans had the tickets legitimately as they had been in corporate

It was awful. Steward was informed and nothing was done at all for ages. The steward and the supervisor were stood at the concourse entrance for ages just staring up at it all kicking off, Burnley fans shouting at them to leave. They eventually got a few more stewards up there but it took an age. The police were nowhere to be seen until fighting had broken out in the concourse. They didn't even try to disguise the fact they were Everton fans. It could have been a lot worse if block 9 wasn't such a calm stand. The tossers even brought a child in with them. So many people left the match they'd paid for to protect their kids and I saw older people leave for their own safety. I saw so many kids in tears, this is not right. I've never been so disgusted at the response of stewards and police. There were guys shouting at the stewards saying sort it out within five mins or we're removing them. Other types of fans would have gone full on in straight away and all hell would have broken loose. I spoke to a guy from the club and he said that they can't control who buys the tickets on general sale. I suppose it is difficult to know whether it's a Burnley fan buying tickets. I heard someone say away fans regularly buy tickets up there but usually they leave at half time and there's no trouble. These Everton fans today were so brazen, asking for trouble.

Also the police made an absolute mess of dragging the fan out of the cricket field, must of been 10 trying to take him out

100% correct. And tbf, some other these guys on minimum wage got stuck into it when they arrived. Credit to them.
Ridiculous why the police never arrived at all.

We had a club official arrive after the event who got both barrels from plenty of fans.
We had a sky sports official arrive at the camera with concerns about what was going on. ( **** knows why.)
No police.

The club most likely resold the tickets to Everton fans why would you ban the people who cashed their tickets in?

Need to get a grip on it because it’s going to get worse, lots of empty seats today and getting stuffed every week is going to lead to more and more tickets being sold on.

Only two weeks to wait for a repeat.

Yep, needed the police. They are not paid enough to put themselves in danger trying to drag people out. The poor steward covering the block looked like a guy who could not handle himself in any respect. I'm not insulting him but it's true - he looked terrified.

Disagree that this has anything to do with selling tickets at the start of the season. You could make an argument that actually helps stop this situation as it’s unlikely that a) ST holders will sell them on, b) away fans will be that organised at the beginning of the season. I’d guess actually that the ST resale system opens up this possibility more - many Everton fans were boasting they’d got them this week.

The failing on the clubs behalf is not being much stricter on who can buy them and then immediately cancelling clarets numbers that buy these tickets.

Not exactly fair. If you put your ticket back on the club's online exchange you have no control who buys it - the club controls that.

There’s a ton of random orgs that have give tickets out for competition winners and things like that for example -

A whole row in the JHL is for people that complete SORARE teams. I know that for a fact!

No but you need a claret number to buy the tickets that are resold. That’s what I’d cancel immediately.

I got a season ticket last March and could only get what I consider very poor seats in the Jimmy Mac lower.The away fans managing to get tickets have a better view than me and people sat round me why should that be possible surely walk ons should have the last options

That's the problem with football. Attracts idiots. Been to plenty of sports where fans are mixed and it's good natured banter - cricket, rugby, American football and baseball. I've been to a few away games and sat in home end. Keep your head down. But it's a cultural issue in football and, quite frankly, embarrassing. Can turn ordinarily decent people into halfwits for 90 mins.

Unless the Everton fans paid cash at the ticket office everything is traceable - if there is a will to do so

My son was sat in the Longside Lower and said the guy sat in front was "acting rather weird" throughout the first half! (Whatever that means!) At half time he turned round and started chatting, admitted to being a Scouser and Everton fan and asked my son not to say anything. My son told him if he kept quiet he'd be fine, but that his accent was a dead giveaway and plenty of people wouldn't like like him sitting there if they knew.

Yes.

Although I think they are pretty easy to create and I’m not sure we also require a purchase history.

It’s so simple to resolve. Just make all tickets need clarets numbers with a purchase history for these type of games.

It's a sad indictment of society today and recent times that opposing fans feel the need to be violent towards each other by default.
Maybe we need Putin to attempt to take Europe and Britain for us to unite once more. We no longer have a common enemy, so we find reason to fight among ourselves, football appears to be that vehicle.
Fans of most other sports quite happily mix and celebrate their differences.
Rugby is a much more physical game, yet rugby fans sit amongst each other with little bother.
Is it that football attracts the dregs of society with little respect for themselves, let alone anyone else?

I agree, however rugby is a myth. There's always trouble at rugby matches inside and outside the ground. It's not as friendly as people think
