REPORT: Enjoyable game as Burnley go through in Youth Cup

Post by ClaretTony » Tue Dec 19, 2023 10:57 am

I hadn't intended writing a report on last night's Youth Cup game but I didn't think it should pass without some words.

It was a smashing game to watch. Both teams going for it and wanting to go forward, officials doing their best in some horrible conditions, no stupid VAR involvement and well over two hours of entertainment.
I agree that, had we scored more goals when we were on top, we possibly would have won comfortably. Having said that, I thought that we were out when Birmingham took the lead because we looked very tired, however, we kept going and it all paid off in the end.
Well done to all involved last night, including those watching in that horrible rain!

Forshaw looks like he has big personality.

Hopefully he'll continue to progress well...

What expletives?

Phil Bird had to apologise for them, clearly audible, sounded a bit Geordie.

I don’t think Philliskirk would be too happy at being called a Geordie. He’s a Mackem. 🤔
