We couldn't... Could we?

Well Clarets, that was has undeniably given us a fighting chance - but we have to absolutely go and make this count now, can't take another backwards step!

Could we go on to survive from here?

We have two difficult games coming up with Liverpool at home, followed by Villa away, then Luton at home which is obviously a huge game.

Forest also have a few difficult games coming up - Newcastle away, Man United at home then Brentford away

We also just happen to play them on the last game of the season at home in what could be a 'win and (stay) in'...

...We couldn't, could we?!

What’s the topic of conversation during Christmas dinner CC?

Next two are free hits, expect nothing and be happy with anything.

Got to beat Luton at home, no ifs or buts. Do that and Forest keep losing and you never know. It’ll be a record low to stay up this season surely.

If we could do some clever trading to remove some fat and bring in some quality on loan (particularly up top to compete with Foster and at full back) that would also be helpful.

Sander Berge is the key.
When he's running through the middle of the park from half way to the opposition box he looks awesome.
Maybe a bit harsh but I'd like to see him do this a lot more and grab more games by the scruff of the neck.

Yep -

Still feel he may be best if we had some midfield destroyer behind him that allowed him to get forward more.

Never know - we may get that player if Papa Gueye (or someone similar) ends up signing in Jan!

Don’t worry we will be back to slagging off VK and calling for him to be sacked in a few days after the Liverpool game.

Who’s called for him to be sacked then?

If the lads fight and we don’t repeat mistakes I’ll be behind them all the way 🤙

Well, you are on here enough to know that there has been considerable lack of support for both the manager and the chairman (not to mention the goalkeeper). We've all read posts suggesting the manager not being up to the job.

Underperformed for me so far, and I don’t particularly like the way that the club operates so far but that doesn’t make me any less of a ‘fan’ - I ultimately want the best for Burnley FC like any and all fans do.

We’re kinda lucky in a sense that it looks like it’s gonna be a season where it’s gonna be a very low number of points to stay up - to be on 3 wins and two draws after 18 and not be cut away at the bottom suggests that…

We’ve just got to now make this count.

That's virtually what I've been saying all season.
I may be called a Happy Clapper, but I don't care.

Before today's game we needed 10 wins and that would guarantee safety so it's a massive boost and now only 9 more needed. It will be a tough ask but not impossible and I'm certain another team will be involved in the scrap along with the bottom 4 and let's hope Everton form starts to downturn with City up next for them

Liverpool at home and Villa away are games we’d expect to get nothing from so I automatically assume 0 and would be delighted with even one point total from the pair.

I think 30 points could keep a team up this year if honest - something mad around that!

5 wins and a few draws could do it - but it would be down the wire... That Forest game at home is gonna potentially be massive!

No chance with such low points at this stage but at least we ain't as bad as Derby was back when they set that record so we won't go down in history .

You say that but Forest, who are in freefall, are only 3 points ahead - I'd normally agree with you but the stars are somewhat aligned and that means that there is a chance.

Halfway to go, if we've turned a corner we could end up mid table or better.

If its business as usual, we'll end the season on 22 points...

Who knows which is gonna happen but I suspect it will be extreme one way or another...

The probability is we’ll still go down, but the second half performance today was much better.

That’s all we ask for.

I hope you are right but it's a slim chance we will stay up..
When we went down the last time it really f*cked my head up coz I had that little bit of hope after the Watford game and surely Leeds wouldn't win on that final day !?
My mindset this season is to expect to go down which is no problem as long as we are ok financially...

We aren’t going to finish mid table or higher. Let’s be realistic.

Everton game aside I think we’ve turned a corner and improved a lot since the Palace game. Wolves away was disappointing because we were never on the ropes in that game and had some great chances first half but the second half was really flat despite getting in good areas and having quite a few corners and set piece opportunities.

I still think we’ll go down but today was a cracking win. We still throw in daft errors during games that will get punished. Really hope I’m wrong though!

If we keep our recent defensive record up from open play then we will keep getting results, especially if we can improve on defending set pieces.

Since going to our current 442 system v Palace the only open play goals that haven't been individual errors are the 2nd Palace attack where everyone was pushed forward, the Trossard goal v Arsenal and the Brighton goal. Thats 3 goals that have been genuinely created by the opposition in open play against us in 7 games. If we can sign a good athletic right back that is good going forwards as well in Jan we have a good chance,

Im also expecting teams to start clocking on that we are very reliant on Berge at some point. If they stop him getting on the ball like Everton did in the first half against us then we might struggle. So maybe an alternative for him which covers the risk of him getting injured as well, Cullen would be a huge downgrade if he had to come back in
