Please can anyone remember the name of the bloke who put all the photos/exhibition up of old Burnley Pubs in The Ministry of Ale, etc.

It was the late Clifford Scott. I don't know what happened to the pub pictures.

The pub pics were in the Ministry of Ale for a number of years.

They just provide an aspect of days gone by. People pointing at pubs that they used to go in many moons ago

I'm sure that the current owners will keep them safe.

As an aside, the quality of the pics were top notch for the day.

Slightly off topic but is that right that the Rifle Volunteer pub has closed?

Been closed for eighteen months after the landlady/owner died. Finally boarded up this week.

Has the Minstry of Ale reopened? Used to be my 'go to' pub for a couple of very fine beers pre match before it closed its doors.
I no longer live in the area.

Jack Nadins book 'The Inns and Taverns of Burnley' has details of all the pubs in The town. Burnley Library will have a copy.

There was something going on at The Talbot' before the Everton game. The door was open and there were people at the bar, but as I looked in the door was rapidly shut.

I always expected the Talbot to be converted to flats. Think it would be a mistake to reopen as a pub, a lot of the regulars will be going to the bars on Bank parade instead, Inn on the Wharf is putting bands on quite regularly as well.
