Remember the game well. Still a little bit icey but nothing compared to the previous home game v Arsenal. We were a very good team and youngsters like Hankin, Ingham and Billy Rodaway were becoming established first division footballers. Heady days!

My favourite season of being a Burnley fan.Great reads and look forward to the cup run reports I may even read the semi final one if you do it.Although I've never been able to stomach it for 50 years

I sometimes think we just didn't realise how good this team was. It didn't last long enough but it was a superb time to be watching the Clarets.

I presume Geoff Nulty would have played in the back four, not sure I remember him as a centre back !

Just checked the line- up and noticed Billy was sub. Would have loved the result and even more so had he been able to get on the pitch.

The crushing disappointment of conceding an equaliser so late in the game which we controlled for large parts, only for the game to be turned on it's head yet again moments later.
Unbridled joy for all Clarets.
As mentioned above, a wonderful team that gave us great pleasure for a few short seasons.

Can still see Emlyn Hughes beating the ground in frustration after Hankin's winner :D

He'd now played at the back for four games with Jim Thomson out injured

Even better then. An Evertonian and also a Claret beating Liverpool. Sheer, unadulterated joy.

Always thought Nulty was very underrated, most of the other players seemed to get all the accolades, but we missed Geoff when he wasn't there.

I think I remember another Boxing day game against Liverpool,we lost 5-1,Brian O'Neil scored a penalty,I think it was around 1969.I remember Peter Thompson given a young Mick Docherty a torrid time

It was 1969 and Brian O’Neil scored our late consolation.
