Damn - that’s the difference I guess.
Amdouni lovely bit of play but couldn’t find a man, then they went up the other end and scored…

Foster hat trick will do
Re: Burnley Vs Liverpool - Match Thread
Trafford gave Nunez 60 percent of the target to hit. He won’t miss that

Re: Burnley Vs Liverpool - Match Thread
Been poor all year at picking up runners and being caught flat footed.
See how Liverpool are stretching the pitch with the occasional low trajectory ball over the top to keep us honest?
Something that we should be trying to utilising far more than we have done

Nah naive this lads.
Come on Vin, get them to know there’s a time and a place!

Re: Burnley Vs Liverpool - Match Thread
If they are committing so many players to press there must be room in behind them. It seems like it is rocket science to footballers.

I don't get how a professional player can't hoof the ball more than 20 yards when under pressure
Re: Burnley Vs Liverpool - Match Thread
We’ve got the second worst home atmosphere in the league behind Fulham.

Attack is the best form of defence. Which is what we have to do as we look so scared the back.
Playing out from the back is a dangerous for us as defending a set piece.

Re: Burnley Vs Liverpool - Match Thread
Conceding within 5 minutes would do that to a home team

^^^^^^^^^^
This is what has given me a bit of a downer about the manager. We can definitely hurt teams in behind more than we have been doing.
Re: Burnley Vs Liverpool - Match Thread
Somehow, we have to hang in there at the moment! Concede a second now and it’s a long evening

This is going to be a loooong game
Re: Burnley Vs Liverpool - Match Thread
Play to your strengths to get the most from any game, dicking around at the back is no way to get anything from one of the better teams in this league

A very flat Turf Moor, you don't see many prem games this quiet.
Re: Burnley Vs Liverpool - Match Thread
As soon as they start pressing we should be looking for Foster or the wingers. If we keep going over them they will soon stop pressing as much.

Not sure what was just blown for - maybe a foul of Beyer but we got off with that one

Liverpool are good but we've been poor. Mainly off the ball. We're miles behind what is needed in terms of pressing and picking up runners.

Poor cross by oderbert but he is a left footer on the right.
Burnley fans might be mistaken for thinking they are at an away game at Anfield with the racket the scousers are making

There really is no excuse for not even remotely getting the basics right. Hopefully we can shake ourselves out of this stupor asap

Re: Burnley Vs Liverpool - Match Thread
I remember years ago always getting a bit hyped to play the big teams, rough them up a bit, get the crowd into them, cause an upset.
Nowadays we just roll over and let them do what they want. Don’t give yourself a chance when you give them this much respect.

Berge and Taylor offering a chance up to Salah to crash one against our bar, that's symptomatic of what's gone on so far today

Re: Burnley Vs Liverpool - Match Thread
I’m trying to be positive but struggling.
This is our 19th game in the Premier League and VK hasn’t yet shown he knows how to set us up to look competitive against a significantly stronger team;
We will always have to nick the odd result against a top 6 team to remain in this league and I’m just not sure that we can without ridiculous money being poured into the XI - very happy and welcome to be wrong.

A few strange decisions with our final ball....Tresor not shooting, Foster dallying, Amdouni half shot, Vitinho not cutting into the area on his left..
Happens when confidence has dropped but we're getting opportunities.

Re: Burnley Vs Liverpool - Match Thread
Struggling to see what our tactics are tonight, and quite baffled why we have set up 442 against a far superior midfield, surely 5 in the middle would give more protection
