OT - Security cameras recommendation?

I just want to know if anyone can recommend which security cameras to get please?
I just need a couple (front and back of property) ideally on wi-fi that will notify me of movement detection between set times of day/night and allow me to view on tablet.

I have two of these plus their video doorbell. I’m happy with them They work off the mains but they also have solar or battery powered models. The doorbell is rechargeable. You don’t need a subscription but it’s a good idea to add SD cards so that you can save recordings. I have it set to just detect motion, and can define the area to monitor
They use WiFi
Bit of advice, use the CloudEdge app instead of their own. It works better

I recommend Lancs Security System from Accrington, plus owner Giles is a big Burnley fan. Tel No 01254 457027.
Get colour cameras installed, they’re well worth the extra cost.

I'd be wary of the iegeek brand, they've had a few issues over the years.

Although generally I'd be wary of most cameras and certainly wouldn't have them in the house unless you were able to make sure the mains power was cut to them when you were home (I wouldn't just rely on them saying they were not active).

i use Ring, i have a door bell, then 2 cameras. battery will last about 6 weeks in a camera.
theres a small monthly fee but it seems worth it, customer support is good, it integrates with my amazon products well.
i like it. i've heard Eufy are good too

I fitted one from Screwfix about 10 years ago. Works great. I’ve had to replace a couple of cameras that went faulty but they were only £15 each.

I have multiple Nest cameras and they've all been trouble free.
We have outdoor cameras for security and indoor cameras for spying on the cats whilst we're away.
You can also integrate a doorbell camera
You get a short amount of cloud based storage for free but it's only £50 a year to subscribe which gives you 30 days coverage for the entire set of cameras and door bell
Assuming that finances allow then don't opt for a cheap system with low resolution.
Hikvision are supposed to be excellent if you want your own dvr in the loft but most people choose a more compact system these days.
Ring/Nest are very comparable so you probably can't go wrong with either. Check what the Ring subscription costs are though

01772 931021 . (Visit their site ).
They have supplied and fitted two excellent Hikvision
Cctv systems for me at very reasonable rates.
Pete ( boss) is an expert in his trade.

Hi StuffyClaret,
Just in case you haven't tried already I think the factory set password is abcd1234. Of course would recommend to change this to your own password once you're in should it work.

Cost you nowt If you’ve got one or two Android phones v4.1 or later you no longer use.
The free IP Webcam app has good video quality, sound and motion detection. I’ve used it for a while now and been happy with the results

Your solicitor who dealt with your move should sort that. If they are withholding passwords (intentionally or not) they could effectively be spying on you!

They will struggle to spy on us as I have disconnected the box
Thanks for the other replies though, I will let you all know how I get on with the suggestions

Just get the best cameras you can afford.
This country is full of CCTV that has terrible pictures. No chance of picking people out or using as evidence.

We have 7 blink cameras. Had them for 5 years and never had a problem. Caught a neighbour stealing a parcel 2 years ago off front doorstep so definitely been worth it.

I didn't know about the subscription, I got mine when they came out so I dont pay a subscription. I only use mine with the app so it suits me fine. The batteries last forever. Im actually in Manchester at the min and just chatted to a delivery driver using the app and got him to leave my parcel with a neighbour so they are really useful.
