Oh look at the big man behind his keyboard. Did it ever come occur I didn’t hear the commentators? Did it ever occur to that I have missed the replay?

Re: Tottenham v Burnley - Player Ratings
Ok fair play. I didn’t see the replay that showed that. I just saw the ball hold up slightly which made the chance more difficult because it was behind him.THEWELLERNUT70 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 12:10 amHe was around 2 yards onside with both defenders in front of him as the ball is played to him as the replay from the side showed and which both commentators agreed on, and believe me it's more than a half chance he's squandered yet again
Again I’ll stand by my earlier comments. Proven Premier League forwards hit the target with them chances. Burnley don’t have any of these proven Premier League forwards because we can’t afford them. We’ve to develop them and this season you can see this development happening.

Wow ,perhaps you may not have seen the Spurs goal so you can post that it ended in a draw, please get your facts right before you post in future.
Re: Tottenham v Burnley - Player Ratings
Muric 7 played a good game but some dangerous decisions again, one leading up to the goal. But very good passing as well which suits our attacking playing style. Some passes were really lovely.
Vitinho 6
Taylor 7
O’Shea 8
Delcroix 9* good to see Hannes breaking through at this level. If he can do this against Tottenham he can do it in the league as well. Hopefully will get called up when he keeps this up. Have to be careful with him though because he's had plenty of unlucky injuries before.
Cullen 7 finally looking up to standard. Means the level on the training pitch has gone up to standard as well. Good to see we don't have to be scared to use him.
Ramsey 7 I like him. Good player that should be starting more often. Doesn't do anything wrong I think.
Odobert 7 bit unlucky but did plenty of good things. Maybe the new Doku. I find him really good for his age.
Zaroury 5 he'll get there. Hopeful performance.
Amdouni 6
Foster 6
Bruun Larsen 6
Brownhill 5
Redmond 4 kind of wonder why we signed him.
Tresor 7 finally creating some chances which is what's he's supposed to be doing. This is his game. Once those chances start going in his confidence will grow and people will see what a player he is. Unbelievable to me that people are criticising him as if he's pony. Potentially our best player by a stretch and a guy worth coming to the stadium for. Very entertaining and skillful.
Al Dakhil 6 looking good but don't see a wingback in him. Hope for one or two good signings to give us what we need in these positions.

At least two in the first half which went to spurs players, Lee Dixon was really critical.... The ball out for the goal was poor. The ones straight out of touch were poor.
Positives were he commanded his box, and some good routine saves for this level. Did nothing to displace Trafford in his current form.

Muric 6 Poor distribution for goal and back to 100mph passes to midfielders facing wrong way
Vitinho 5 Targeted again, like many lacking physicality
O'Shea 8
Delcroix 7
Taylor 7 hope injury is not too bad
Zaroury 5 Wrong side to be effective
Cullen 6
Ramsey 6
Odobert 6
Amdouni 5 Bambi on ice and missed our best 2 chances
Foster 6
Bruun Larsen 5 Strange one no physicality in this position, why not bring on Jay ?...
Brownhill 6
Al-Dakhil 6
Redmond 5
Trésor 5
Disappointed at end due to last kick miss. But another display and another defeat, where our lack of physical equality shone through.

Have you said the same to all the other posters who have said the same... Or just me?
Re: Tottenham v Burnley - Player Ratings
Muric 7 - sets a different tempo from the back. Risk / reward as ever though!
Vitinho 6 - ok
O'Shea 8 - excellent
Delcroix 8 - excellent
Taylor 7 - worrying injury
Zaroury 6 - actually thought he grew into the game. Pass of the night into Zeki. Can't understand how every other winger seems to get more game time than him.
Cullen 6 - solid after a ridiculous yellow card
Ramsey 6 - caught on the ball but got his foot in a few times... ok
Odobert 7 - had moments and he certainly worries the opposition
Amdouni 4 - awful, genuinely awful. Gave the ball away cheaply, fell over, missed chances... back to my Zaroury comment. Some players get minutes based on very little, others don't!
Foster 5 - ran hard as ever and we saw what a half fit Foster gives us versus the alternative in JBL.
Bruun Larsen 3 - horrific.
Brownhill 5 - ok
AAD 5 - not a left back but got up and down
Redmond 4 - offered nothing
Tresor 4 - just don't get it
Vitinho 6 - ok
O'Shea 8 - excellent
Delcroix 8 - excellent
Taylor 7 - worrying injury

Re: Tottenham v Burnley - Player Ratings
From TV
Muric 7 Dominated his area better than previously but never under the same physical pressure that Trafford's been for most of the season. Some very good aspects, a couple of fine saves, some iffy passes and throw outs, but misjudged the winner, being caught flat-footed and hoping it was going wide.
Vitinho 6 Was given no help defensively by Zaroury in the first half but did ok when Spurs threatened to overrun us down our right.
O' Shea 7 Grew into the game and defended well after a dodgy spell in the first 20 minutes when he conceded possession cheaply three times in dangerous areas.
Delcroix 8 MOM Comfortably his best performance in a Burnley shirt.
Taylor 7 A solid performance from CT. Hopefully the shoulder knock is nothing serious as we can't afford to lose him.
Odobert 6 Looked lively but not as effective as in recent games
Cullen 6 Solid. Probably as effective as he's been for us this season
Ramsey 7 Worked hard, got stuck in and kept us moving forward, though faded in the second half.
Zaroury 6 One sublime pass aside he doesn't look comfortable at the moment, seemingly badly lacking in confidence, under or over-hitting passes and of little help defensively.
Amdouni 7 Our most likely source of a goal tonight. Missed our best two chances but neither were as straightforward as they first appeared.
Foster 5 Fed off scraps but didn't look right and was rightly subbed at half-time.
Subs: Bruun Larsen 5 Had little impact but then he wasn't on his own in that respect.
Brownhill 5 A couple of wayward passes and a mishit shot aside had little impact
Tresor 6 Definitely has ability but still to make a meaningful contribution to affect the outcome of one of our games.
Al Dakhil 5 One surging forward run aside, his only contribution was to lose possession for the goal.
Overall we defended well against an understrength Spurs side, who were nowhere near as effective as they can be. We we were disappointingly toothless going forward in the second half until we fashioned two decent chances in stoppage time. In some areas we are definitely improving. Foster's first half no-show was worrying after his superb performance at Villa Park

Re: Tottenham v Burnley - Player Ratings
Muric 7 - certainly a bigger presence than Trafford but not sure he is anymore commanding.
Vitinho 7 - he is getting targeted but not many get passed him. I feel he is developing well in that role.
O'Shea 8 - seems to have found his feet and looked assured and aggressive
Delcroix 8 - really impressive performance, looked good on the ball and did the defensive stuff really well too.
Taylor 7 - solid, but seems to be getting heavy and not as mobile as once was
Zaroury 6 - good to see him back and get minutes. Flashes going forward and his usual languid self when defending. Hopefully will get more game time now.
Cullen 7 - beat and tidy and used the ball well especially after early yellow
Ramsey 6 - again concerned when saw he was staring as a two man midfield but held his own and showed he can do it in there. Looks like long term successor to brown hill
Odobert 6 - had moments but not his best game,
Amdouni 6 - I thought he played one of his better games today. Linked mid and attack and showed some great touches and turns which is what we need to break the lines. It will click for him but needs time, a commodity we are short on.
Foster 6 - didn’t look at the races tonight. Right call to sub, just wrong sub replacement.
Bruun Larsen 5 - chased well and kept pressure on. With the ball however looks lost.
Brownhill 6 - did well, busy and got forward well when he came on.
AAD 6- pleased to see him back. Didn’t do anything wrong (amdoubi lost ball for goal not AAD)
Redmond 6 - you can tell his experience, can’t help feeling we would be better with him the side.
Tresor 5 - seems to be still adjusting to the speed and physicality of the league.

Muric 8-masterclass , almost
Vitinho 5 the odd good tackle but limited
O'Shea 7 worked v hard
Delcroix 7 - good showing and perhaps a regular
Taylor - good shift and a lovely Maldini esque “ double turn “
Zaroury 5- one sweet ball but it looks over for AZ
Cullen 7- very busy grafted ticked it over
Ramsey 7 gave ball away but there’s a proper talent
Odobert 6- lively if restricted
Amdouni 5- 2 horrible misses ,, an enigma
Foster 5- scraps but looked off
Bruun Larsen 5 largely infective
Brownhill 6 worked
Al-Dakhil 7-lively cameo

Re: Tottenham v Burnley - Player Ratings
From TV.
Muric 6 Solid goalkeeping. Saveable saves and safe on crosses and corners. Passing difficult because, as has been widely discussed, players aren’t available to pass to. My only criticism of him was his performance on the goal. I’m not saying he could have saved it (a brilliant strike by Porro) but he made no attempt. Either he wasn’t expecting a shot or he misjudged it. It was swerving oddly but goalkeepers dive these days even if it’s going wide, just in case.
Vitinho 6 Struggled with Johnson but fortunately the Spurs player was so poor in his finishing that he got away with it. Got forward well. There should be some arrangement that if he goes forward there should be some cover.
O'Shea 9 MoM Defended excellently. Did his job and covered for others too.
Delcroix 8 Defended solidly and got forward occasionally. Quite impressive.
Taylor 6 Did pretty well but we struggled on both wings.
Zaroury 6 OK in the middle of the park role but not good at defending which didn’t help our right side. Not much energy there though.
Cullen 6 We shouldn’t write him off yet based on this performance. A little harshly booked. One point off for lacking leadership - he was captain - see below.
Ramsey 5 Lacks energy for that role but stuck at it with little effect.
Odobert 5 Attacked when he could but didn’t defend much. That early shot, our one effort on target, was not that good and easy to save. We know he can do better.
Foster 5 Lacked energy. Looked competent but ineffective.
Amdouni 5 Credit for setting up his chance but negative for poor control and hitting it over. Nearly equalised at the end but a very difficult chance. He’s a nearly man. There’s something there but it’s not happening.
Subs.
Brun Larson 7 Lots of energy and some class. He seemed to liven up our attack without having any major effect.
Al-Dakhil 7 Looked good, defended well and got forward well.
Tresor 6 Didn’t affect things much. Corners mostly poor. Harsh booking.
Redmond 6 Looked decent but not much time to affect the game
Overall we competed surprisingly well although Spurs should have taken some of their chances. However the usual failings of a struggling side were evident, particularly in our inability to create good goal scoring opportunities, and taking them, and a major error for the goal.
The error was not Muric’s pass out or Amdouni’s attempt beat Porro. It was the defence not closing Porro down. Porro had so much time and space to set up his shot, brilliant as it was. A pity because we had done so well up to then and after. Our one big mistake and it cost us the game.
I mentioned above Cullen’s lack of leadership. The obvious example is when Taylor went off. He was being treated for quite a while (it seemed obvious he would go off although he went down complaining of his shoulder it seemed to be his leg, which had troubled him earlier) and took an inordinate amount of time to go off. Meanwhile we still hadn’t got Al Dakhil ready (what were they doing on the bench?) so the ref, impatient with us I assume, restarted play with us only ten men on the pitch. A leader would immediately delegate someone to the left back role, even do it himself. As it was, Spurs instantly attacked that area and had free men there. Poor.
Our crossing, from open play, free kicks and corners was generally awful - mostly straight into the goalkeepers hands.
Oh well. We concentrate on the league. Progress has been made but from a pretty low standard. We are now at the half way stage and still with major shortcomings. From not being able to defend or attack we can now defend, to some extent. We still can’t attack well enough though. Is four months long enough to sort them out and pick up enough points to stay up?
