900 for a game on tv on a friday night at the other end of the country just after Christmas is a really really good effort

Its a shame really that the novelty has worn off a bit for the fans against the bigger clubs. A few years back wed have had 5000 there as a bare minimum in the cup, if they'd allowed it. I think wed have taken more if it was Charlton away rather than Tottenham, people are bored of us getting beaten.

8pm...friday night.. ITV

Never 5000 unless we were a lower league club who hadn't played them for a while... Like Chelsea in the league cup.

Pleasantly surprised by the ground. Great atmosphere and good seats.

Just over a thousand looked about right to me. Fair play to anyone who made the effort.

Same here - great ground. Only gripe is the fact that Spurs had sold out of all food bar crisps before KO. Poor when you consider that we had a round trip of 500 miles.

Really amazing ground, loved the safe standing.. can't wait for this to be the norm. (Nice not to hear the moans of sit down.. sit down)
I guess we had around 1000 there and most around me had Burnley accents, so far play for the long travel of a Fri night.
Atmosphere wasn't the best and was often heckled by the spurs fans above us. "We forgot that you were here" lol..
Just wished it was a 3pm sat ko as the day would have been a good one on the beers then

Those in the know, which are those who were at that awful Colchester game in I think 1986, all got free tickets and transport. We had to keep it quiet though.

Based on that above there were 30,000 Clarets there.

I was there last night and I’d guess between 9-1100. Atmosphere was one of the worst away in 45 yrs following the club . Sure it’s a terrible combo of Fri night /tv/long journey /low round cup/guaranteed beating, tourists , London clarets etc etc BUT it was shocking . Also the 60k + Spurs fans were all but silent until they briefly stirred after their goal .

It appears Spurs also sold plenty of tickets around our allocated area as the sheer volume of half /half scarves told it’s own story . Credit to the fans that travelled , though it had more a feel of a local community Sunday ramble than an fa cup tie v a European “ super power “ club .

Good safe standing set up though but the worst pie I’ve eaten in my life “ spurs signature beef and onion”

Anyone who says the atmosphere in the away end was good either wasn't there, or a complete liar.

I've never seen a set of Burnley fans so quiet.

Didn't help that you're surrounded by spurs fans there also I'm sure maybe 25% of fans in our end have never seen a Burnley game in their lives, I presume spurs sold all the unsold tickets to anyone. Lots of over seas fans in there

Was never going to be good atmosphere last night. I think generally our away support is getting quieter though. Much more middle class, less of a lads day out vibe. Sign of the times I suppose.

Always surprised how people automatically assume the away support all travelled from Burnley. There are loads of Clarets in the London area.
