Why would you trust him more when he's clearly got it wrong? He's obviously sticking with him to justify the £19 million he's wasted

Re: TRAFFORD
You made an outlandish claim of him being undoubted best/ #1, then cited the managers decision as reasoning.
That's an argument from authority.
I agree that the manager seemingly prefers Trafford to Muric, but that isn't evidence that he's our best.

What do you think is going through Muric’s mind every time he watches Trafford in these games?

Similar to most players who’ve been binned off this season. Bet team spirit is top notch at the moment.StayingDown4Ever wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 7:29 pmWhat do you think is going through Muric’s mind every time he watches Trafford in these games?

Aye, let’s trust a manager who rates Vitinho. Let’s trust a manager who continues to play Amdouni. Let’s trust a manager who’s spunked over £100m.

Wish you lot would shut the **** up about Trafford. He's a decent keeper already. We have had far far more serious problems this season. Trafford is not the problem.

So as regarding serious problems if only relating to football what’s more serious than having a league 1 keeper in a Premier League team.summitclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 7:37 pmWish you lot would shut the **** up about Trafford. Yeah he’s a decent keeper only conceded 47 goals in 23 games what a ******* joke.
We need to make a new award for most stupid decision of the season for the manager who keeps playing him.

I do feel like if Traff wasn't English or played for the U21s or had some platitudes off VK there'd be a lot less support.
Hand on heart if I thought he was giving us the best chance to win a game I'd be massively in favour of him starting - but I just do not see it and I'm not seeing an improvement to keep justifying his selection.

Re: TRAFFORD
Just got back to the Midlands after the game. From my seat in the Bob Lord Trafford should have come and claimed that ball easily prior to it going out for a corner and the resulting soft goal.
For their second goal with the ball over the top I think it was a 50/50 between him and the goal scorer. A confident keeper like Tom Heaton would have come for that and put the fear of god into their striker. We have done this to death all season and Kompany isn’t going to replace him but Trafford is a weak keeper and doesn’t inspire confidence to the rest of the team.

Re: TRAFFORD
Numerous saves? How many did he make today? 2 or 3 tops that’s it. How many mistakes did he make? 2 or 3, he constantly makes mistakes which usually result in a goal conceded or a good chance to the opposition.
A goalkeeper is paid to make saves. He’s had 1 game where he pulled of a lot of saves 1 game. Apart from that he’s done absolutely nothing other than routine shot stopping.
I do not see what is so special about him. We let a better keeper in BPF go. BPF is levels above Trafford and has a lot more experience aswell even then he’s nothing more than a capable back up at EPL level.

Same posters defend him each week regardless. It’s been an horrific experiment by Kompany in choosing to play him week in week out regardless of how often be picks the ball out of the net.agreenwood wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 8:12 pmI don’t understand this comment when at least half the contributions to this thread are critical or him.

Trafford is the whole problem. Even the people in the Cricket Field stand could see that today from 100 metres away. Why do you think they were singing 'Muric' to Kompany as he went off at HT? Trafford is a liability and the only reason that I can suggest for him not being dropped ages ago is that there must be something in his contract to say he can't be.summitclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 7:37 pmWish you lot would shut the **** up about Trafford. I don’t care who is in nets for us as long as they save shots, these Trafford lovers seem to be missing the fact that his stats are absolutely woeful at his job which is saving shots and stopping us from conceding simple easily avoidable goals.
They just give him a free pass like the manager has had all season long. I’m a fan for the here and now not six years down the line as some poster hilariously said he would be good by( in six years time!)
Probably looked great at league one level against league one players with his over the top dives directly upwards to save easy shots. Safe to say no other team will be buying him with the premier league in mind. Time for VK to own up to his massive error of keeping playing him and play anyone else!

The same goes for VK too though, if his name wasn't Vincent Kompany and he was an unknown manager from the Belgium league the ones defending VK this season would also be calling for his head.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 8:00 pmI do feel like if Traff wasn't English or played for the U21s or had some platitudes off VK there'd be a lot less support.

It's been a shocking summer and each game were getting worse.
Fans saying Trafford is our number 1 because VK says he's our best goalkeeper need also remember VK says Dara O'Shea can play for a top 6 club and that we have a £100 million player on our books!!

Becoming ridiculous now. This season has turned into an exercise in hoping to improve our goalkeeper. I’m not convinced Muric is the answer but surely he deserves a run in the side. Currently it’s not fair on Trafford or the rest of the team who surely have lost all confidence in him.

It's about inspiring confidence within the defensive unit.
Unfortunately, he doesn't provide it.
Like most of our squad he is too physically lightweight.

Re: TRAFFORD
I never known a manager go back to the club he played for revel in the adulation from the fans and staff ,and the hugging and backslapping towards his old manager I reckon he wouldn’t have known what to do if we had somehow got the 3 points ,I can remember Gary Neville leading Utd out when Smeichel was in the opposition goals ,Neville wouldn’t even look at him.
