I thought Twine was a good player for us but couldn't quite work out what was his position.

Nor could he!

With his lack of pace I’d say he’s suited best to a 10/8 role. If he was a bit more physical he’d be decent as an 8. He’s almost a very good player but for the few things out of his control which are his pace and power

We are obviously looking to sell him but can’t get our money back on him

Best of luck to him down there.
I'll be hoping we retain his services for the Championship next season. He's one that actually plays with intensity and determination.

He’s in the shop window whilst out on loan. Only takes a good half a season to become valuable again

Hes hardly played so getting a few mill for him isnt to be sniffed at. Its better than losing people on a free.
If we can similar for Mcnally then we can probably make 5 mill without weakening the squad at all.
Hopefully we can use the money on wages for O'Hare.

Let’s hope his old manager from MK Dons can get the best out of him and find his best position.

All the more reason for him to link up with his old manager. Strong second half to the season and getting our money back won’t be a problem.

Every time someone mentions Aaron Ramsay I'm reminded that we have Aaron Ramsay.

One played a big part and shone in a decent championship team last season, the other took a few free kicks.

Ramsey was top drawer for Boro last season, 20 year old England international. Twine, 24 and sadly not been very effective in the Championship. Ramsey will be a much better player for us

I’m not sure that Hull were too interested in signing him for 4 or 4 M as he was often on the bench for

The first of quite a few i imagine that we won't get us money back on , but that's the risk when buying young talent unfortunately...

we still have to put up with Brownhill and JBG wacking it into the Beehole.
How long has that been going on now?

That is somewhat inaccurate, they also whack them into the Cricketfield.

I always wonder how when having a shot 9 out of 10 it's I row z, yet when taking a corner we can't beat the first man, Brownhill is particularly the worst for this, but no matter who it is we can't beat first man.

Ramsey is another one in the Trafford camp for me, won't make the step up from U21 to full international imo.

David Beckham was once asked what makes him so good at scoring free kicks. He replied practice, practice and then more practice. I wonder if Brownhill and JBG saw that interview?

Twine may yet turn out to be a very astute signing imo, there has to be something in there given he's goals and assists for mk dons, and a run in both Hull and Bristol city will stand him in good stead and give him good experience for next season.

As Tresor was my greatest hope of the new signings this season, Twine was the one I expected to shine last season.
Its a shame but these things happen, especially with all the players we bought.
Good luck Scott

Ross Wallace.....last half decent free kick taker....and the last time I can recall us scoring from a free kick...Scott Twine.

Defour and Barton werent too bad.
Trippier has been annoyingly good at them since he left, i thought he was absolutely crap at them when he was here

The best I read on these lines was of Traore at Wolves. With Jimenez playing he always managed to cross the ball into the stands. Strangely when Jimenez was injured and actually sitting in the stands Traore suddenly became more accurate with his crosses - they went into the stands.

I don't think you can take good free kicks without practising. Certain skills can be innate e.g. dribbling.
What surprises me is that ST has only scored once from a free-kick this season.

Westwood's corners were taken for granted at the time but how difficult is it for a professional footballer (any level) to put a decent corner in?

Looking tonight at how they play Twine looks the right fit for them, the problem might be getting a game, hopefully he’ll get that opportunity.

He's a special teams player (NFL), ideally suited to be brought on for all offensive set pieces.

Whacking them into the Beehole just sounds more dramatic. Don't spoil a good tale with the facts.
