There are 1947 Cup Final programmes on ebay for circa £200. Is that a reasonable price and are they likely to be genuine and not repro"s. Thanks in advance.

That's quite expensive, tbh.
There do come up in other auctions cheaper than that.
I'd sit back for a few weeks and note the other prices being asked.

Far too high a price. This programme comes up all the time on eBay and I wouldn't be paying more than £50 for it if I needed it. Much more collectible are the 5 different 'Pirate' programmes issued for the game.

I had no idea there were 'pirate' programmes. Thanks for the info.

They're on eBay too.

Not a rare prog. Was pre eBay but many were flushed out that drove down the price of all but the rarest of programs

Was £25 back when I got mine.. in the mid/late 1980’s. I suspect the asking price is not wide of the mark, but you probably can find it cheaper if you look around and take your time.

I have practically every home programme from 1955-2019 and willing to sell the whole collection for a reasonable price. I also have some pre-1955 but not full seasons, just 2-3 per season.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

I've only seen about 5 - the last one on eBay went for about £125.

Yes that Forest single sheet is tricky, but the full programme from the postponed game is probably even rarer.

The Tottenham one is very hard to obtain. Without checking my collection I think it's a 4 pager. You'll do well to get it for less than £100.

Officially it was the opening game of the 1912/13 season against Glossop North End, but a few years ago some issues from 1909ish appeared - they were produced by the Burnley Express I think, & were bought by a top Burnley collector who lives in the South. I know I was priced out of them!

There must be a 1914 FA Cup Final programme when we won it v Liverpool 1-0.
Love to just see a picture of it with the teams on.

There was indeed a programme for the 1914 Cup Final. It's just a 4 page card issue, black & white, with the team line ups, details of past finals & of the brass band entertainment to be provided for spectators. The last one I saw at auction went for just short of £5000, whilst a Royal Box issue, complete with silk ribbon, fetched £6500. Unfortunately I don't have a copy to show a photo, but if you Google '1914 FA Cup Final Programme' there are several images.

That's just a bit special, RammyClaret61.

And for good measure we won 2-1, McFarlane and Murphy the scorers.

I presume that's a copy - it comes up quite a lot on eBay. It may be WBA's first programme but its certainly not the first featuring Burnley. Last year I sold our away issue at Sheffield United from November 1899 and I'm pretty sure I've seen a programme from a Burnley friendly at Everton in the late 1880s/early 1890s.

Does anyone remember that newsagents that used to be in Padiham on Burnley Road on the corner of (Milton Street)?

They used to sell loads of old programmes from 40’s onwards I think. I got quite a few from there.

I’m sure it is a copy. The quality is way to good. Plus the paper is slightly glossy.
