Good stuff, although we did win an early season friendly vs United and that didn’t really translate to the premier league

I was hoping our traditional January win at Manchester would be at the Emptyiad

First I've heard about this.
Was it publicised anywhere?

Yes, because sometimes I've known about them in advance.
Exciting times.

Just a pity we can't beat them when it really matters. The MU side we played earlier in the season was imo their worst I can ever remember seeing and I go back to the early 60's.

Why do clubs not mention all friendlies whenever they take place these days.

I would guess that it was not so much a friendly as in pre season warm but more of a behind closed doors try out fringe players or trialists that doesn’t need to be in the public domain. Might be wrong but it would seem sense.

I’d be very very disappointed if we let benson go. He’s the only player we have who can create something from nothing in a team that is the worst in the final third in the league. Baffling

Not sure it's baffling when he's hardly played this season

Purely on what he has available in his locker. We don’t have anyone else like him.

I'm not ruling out that we won't get something in the return fixture. As you say they're not a great side (although I'd say more just unstable than weak), IF we can get a couple of key positional additions and/or get things to click like they did last season, we can get a proper result off them.

Not quite - two for JBG and one for Amdouni might be closer
