Trafford - 6 - couldn't fault him in the onslaught

Vitinho - 3 - Doku had him on toast similar to Sterling. Fast asleep for goal 2.
O' Shea - 5 - not awful but could do better especially on the 1st goal cross
Ekdal - 5 - caught napping for goal 1 and they played plenty in behind him
Al Dakhil - 6 - a little better and a bonus for the goal.

Berge - 6 - could maybe do better from the corner. Looks good when in space with the ball
Brownhill - 6 - outmatched but did ok and did get a shot off after a decent move
JBG - 4 - should not be starting.
Odobert - 5 - the odd glimpse but nowhere near enough.

Amdouni - 3. Enough already. End the experiment now. We cannot afford this guy. Odobert has a simple tap-in if he squares it. Consistently makes poor decisions.
Foster - 6 - good effort 1st half but difficult to rate strikers in these games

Fofana - 7 - looked a handful and great run for the goal.

The usual Etihad procession but we did score and I think Vinny has learned things from this game. We STILL however don't know the best XI.

I'll be very disappointed if Amdouni, Vitinho and JBG start vs Fulham.

Trafford: 6 did everything asked and pinged a fair ball.

Vitinho: 7 thought he was good against a really pacy winger
O’Shea: 8 (MOM) best defender we had tonight
Ekdal: 5 game passed him by time and time again
Al Dakhil: not a LB

Brownhill: 7 standard
Berge: 7 standard
JBG: 5 nothing added by him being in the pitch
Odobert: 7 worked hard and was positive where given the chance

Amdouni: 4 a luxury player we can’t afford to carry
Foster: 6 average night doing a thankless job

Roberts: 3 can’t stand the bloke or the player
Fofana: 7 made a difference
Ramsey: 7 worked damn hard off the ball

Messengo: tried harder and impacted the game more than Roberts/JBG/Amdouni in his brief cameo

Trafford 5 - half dropped a couple and could have saved the third but not to blame for the defeat
Vitinho 3 - marking Haaland at that late corner, his eyes were level with the H and D on Haaland's shirt, moment of the night for me
Al Dakhil 6 - no knowledge of positional discipline but out of position and stuck to his task well
Ekdal 7 MOM - bizarrely, kept them fairly quiet, composure was vital
O'Shea 6 - decent game, good in the air, over committed a couple of times
Berge 6 - so, so difficult in that holding role that affects his output, but he stuck at it and cut off several attacks
Brownhill 4 - energy but no end product, which to be frank isn't what we need, think we now need to go for it but not sure we have the personnel to move Berge forward
Odobert 6 - some brilliant, some good, some terrible. The antithesis of a Dyche player. Gave us a chance.
Gudmundsson 5 - lack of dynamism makes him easier for City to deal with
Amdouni 6 - some great touches and dribbles, but some poor passes too and a poor finish when an open goal pass was on
Foster 5 - didn't get much chance and when he made a run his mates didn't find him

Roberts 5 - huffed and puffed but to little effect
Fofana 7 - some nice moments and looks to have a dynamic dribble in him, a good last 30 minutes player, please not the last 5 minutes, too good for that
Ramsey 5 - playing in the hardest area of the pitch against City

A weird night. On one hand, it felt like we were all letting it pass us by and waiting for Saturday, including the players. On the other hand we limited City to 14 shots, kept them largely at bay, had a few chances ourselves, and applied ourselves well. A night to get out of the way ASAP, then Liverpool and Arsenal too, then crack on (although I think Arsenal at home are beatable). Fulham is important but they have had more rest so we need not to overthink that one. Staying up will be odds against but still just about possible no matter what the result on Saturday.

Trafford 6. No fault on the goals but started off shaky
Vitinho 5-his attacking contribution was woeful. Just not a PL full back. He gave Daku the freedom of Manchester
O Shea 7-give the lad credit he made some great blocks and tackles
Ekdal 7-difficult game, and could have done better with the first goal, but like his composure and reading of the game
Al Dakhill 5 (feel sorry for him-just not a FB)
Odobert 6
Berge 6-must give him the Amdouini role , and play Cullen & Brownhill as the midfield two
Amdouini 5-worst game I have seen him play, but for his selfishness with a virtual impossible chance, his pass could have made it 3-2
JBG 5-agree with above too slow, should not be starting and offers nothing.File under Rodriguez
Brownhill 6-struggles to keep possession, and not his night
Foster 6-starved of chances . got stronger as game went on, but was bossed around by the Man City defence
Forfana 7-looked a strong physical player who can cause issues, and alongside Foster could cause defences problems
Ramsey 5-did a lot of chasing but struggled to get involved
Roberts 5-still feel he needs to start because of his PL and international experience

I suppose any keeper could stop any goal theoretically but I’d be interested to see an explanation of this.

I was shocked at the starting shape - playing 4-4-2 was suicide. Well aware they took their foot off the gas 2nd half but much more compact 5-4-1. Also, our ball retention was absolutely woeful.

6’s all round. No individual was below par but none of them were good for the whole game. City are immense though. Best team in the world.

All the players on the back foot for most of the game.

Very disappointing performance to watch to be honest.

Let’s be generous and say 5 each 🙄

Hard to give any kind of a toss about games against the financially doped plastics at their theme park but it's football so you never know. Nah, of course you do.

Game over after 15 mins bit weirdly we did OK in patches. That lot are always coming into form in the 2nd half of the season and there's no disgrace in defeat as its a total mismatch.

Trafford 6 no chance with the goals
Vitinho 5
O Shea 7
Ekdal 6
Al Dakhil 7 no fan of him at left back but he did well enough
Gudmundsson 4
Berge 6
Brownhill 6
Odobert 4
Foster 5
Amdouni 3 wasteman. Makes the wrong decision at important times far too often.

Roberts 6
Ramsey 6
Fofana 7 nice run for our goal.

Whatever. Weekend way more important than this one.

Ball was about a yard in from the post hence saveable but low probability, he nearly got there, not a criticism.

Trafford 6 did ok overall
Vitinho 4 Just not the quality required at this level
O Shea 7 Steady away
Ekdal 6 Decent performance as he`s still coming back from injury
Al Dakhil 4 way out of his depth at this level and as full back but grabbed a scrambled goal
Gudmundsson 4 Too slow not pl level anymore
Berge 6 Made some decent breaks but options were limited when he had possession
Brownhill 4 Contributed square root of f all
Odobert 5 Tried but made little impression
Foster 5 Never really got any service or chances
Amdouni 4 Had one good moment and he blew it

Roberts 6 Felt all the subs improved us plus Zaroury
Ramsey 6
Fofana 7

Kompany 3 poor starting formation and line for a match against the worlds best team, plus don`t like seeing the technical area devoid of management whichever one it is, this team is devoid of leadership both on and off the field and is screaming out for someone to take them by the scruff of the neck and put some fire in their bellies.

No marks bc from tv but observations:

Zaroury has to start for Odobert

Presume Johann is picked to shore up the right, but as much as I love him for the past, doesn’t have the legs anymore. You’re against Doku, play Conor deep and Vitinho RM.

Massive fan of Brownhill but I feel his time is coming to an end. We need more than a ratter in midfield going forward.

Massengo ( not on long enough) played a lovely pirouette and pass and broke up an attack by seeming to be coasting and then nipped in with the steal.

Trafford: 6 - Solid game. Surprisingly didn't have much to do. After an early clanger where he dropped a relatively simple cross, he grew into the game and also seemed to push further forward to provide a passing option when we were in possession in our own half. Seeing little improvements every game.
Vitinho: 6 thought he was made to look like a young lad playing against his dad in the first half but grew into the game.
O’Shea: 7 - Solid game. Definitely seen an improvement from him in the last few games. Needs to keep his concentration up for the full 90 mins though.
Ekdal: 5 - Possibly his worst game for us so far. Looked slow and immobile. He's definitely better than this.
Al Dakhil: 7 - Can't remember much about his performance which is a good thing. With that in mind he had a solid game.
Brownhill: 6 - Gave the ball away cheaply a few times when breaking out of defence (including for the second goal) in the first half but looked solid in the second half.
Berge: 8 - MOM - Made some really useful drives through the middle with the ball that created counter attacks and took the pressure off us defensively.
JBG: 5 - Didn't really offer anything in attack and did ok doubling up on Doku but left Vitinho to defend Doku one on one too often, given the main reason for him playing is his tracking back, that's not a good sign.
Odobert: 7 - worked hard and attempted a few runs. Didn't have much support and therefore ran into dead ends alot of the time.
Amdouni: 5 - Did very little and the ball just didn't stick to him. Missed a really good chance where a simple pass would have set up Odobert for a tap in during a rare attack.
Foster: 6 - Did ok but had a difficult isolated role. Couldn't really expect any more or less from him but shows more energy than our other alternatives.

Roberts: 6 - Seemed to be playing in an advanced attacking position when he first came on and added a body in the opponents box which was helpful in reducing the pressure on our defence. However didn't really do much other than get put in a headlock by Ederson who was lucky only to get a yellow.
Fofana: 7 - Made a massive difference. Played a very Tella like role and was probably our biggest positive of the night. Looking forward to him cracking on for the rest of the season.
Ramsey: 7 - Don't understand the hate for him on here. Provided much needed energy and pressured the City defence into at least two mistakes. Another major positive that i hope he takes confidence from.
Messengo: 6 - Gave the ball away with his first touch but after that made all the right decisions and looked good enough for more minutes in future.

Trafford 6- no chance with goals
Vitinho 5- really should be anywhere near the prem
O Shea 6 - put a shift in
Ekdal 5- at fault for 2nd
Al Dakhil 6 (+1 for v lucky goal ) lively but so naive
Gudmundsson 4- did he even play ?
Berge 6 the odd decent pass
Brownhill 6- stuck at it
Odobert 4 dropped out the game
Foster 5 little service though decent effort
Amdouni 3- dreadful

Subs:
Roberts 5- foul tempered weasel
Ramsey 6 ok but city had given up
Foofoo 7- looked very lively

Dads vs lads and City totally gave up at 3-0 , we kept it respectable though , just

Can’t believe the relatively high marks for O’Shea. Flinches in the most cowardly way imaginable for the third goal twisting his torso 180 degrees to avoid taking a hit from the ball. If he stands firm and puts his body in the way as any good defender should, we at least stay remotely in contention for a while longer.

Basically symptomatic of why we are in the predicament that we find ourselves in.

I don’t see criticising any individual player as much as the whole team’s miserable performance last night.

From tv
Trafford 6 two early flaps at crosses cannot be good for the rest of the defence, plus not great distribution.
Vitinho 5 I’ve never seen a right back get skinned as much as him. He’s okay going forward but he simply can’t defend well.
O’Shea 6 I still don’t see a PL centre back
Ekdhal 6 looked knackered in the last 15 mins
AlDakhil 7 I actually thought he had a decent game out of position
JBG 5 never got going at all
Brownhill 6 would have been a 4 after his first half performance, but he was much better second half
Berge 7 our only player who wanted to move the ball forward
Odobert 5 not up for a fight I’m afraid
Amdouni 4 so frustrating, but last night nothing went right for him
Foster 6 ran and ran but was on his own doing so

Roberts 6 will do a good job at Leeds
Fofana 7 his energy and over all performance were Tellaesque. He has to start on Saturday
Ramsey 6 I’m still eating for him to show us why we bought him

To say we were playing probably the best team in the world, we weren’t that bad but we just seemed so lethargic and lacking in drive and energy. We did improve after the three substitutions, though by then it had become a training exercise for City.
