Sent off for Australia tonight in their defeat to South Korea.
Hadn’t realised he’d made it into their senior squad.
Australia 1-0 up until the 96th minute too…

He made his full international debut almost a year ago
Had a difficult start at Burnley, took us well over a year to get international clearance and in his first two seasons played just one competitive game.
Probably got his first team chance too early but I always thought he had something about him.

I'm an Australian claret and I watched the match and thought the red was harsh, especially given it was originally a yellow that was upgraded thanks to VAR

He's figured mostly as a late sub and was again yesterday. There isn't a huge amount of talent in the middle of the park so he could end up playing a significant role for the next world cup cycle and beyond.

I agreed on the little I saw of him, although perhaps I was a bit biased. He seems to have done pretty well in the A-League (which I can't pretend I really watch very much of) and now seems to be playing pretty regularly at Leige. Not sure he's what we need though

I remember the Aiden O’Neill / Tarky midfield axis at Chelsea

I actually thought O'Neill did okay in that game, considering his age and the context. Decent technique and close control and tried to pass it forward or make things happen. Wanted to see more of him than we did, so I'm very pleased it's all worked out the way it has for him and he's playing for his country now.

He’s a decent player that didn’t have the best of times at Burnley (to be fair young foreign players never really do). Definitely not Premier league quality but I’d take him in the Championship. From what I saw of him in A league he’s got a good work ethic, a good footballing brain but lacks technical ability.

If young foreign players aren't going to have the best of times at Burnley, then this "project" really is screwed!

I think it had more to do with the management of the past. VK integrates foreign players well.
