Josh Brownhill

He was SO far off it today.

He was always 2 yards off the play. He showed zero composure on the ball and a huge lack of bravery and quality when he did get it. I could have done what he did and just lay the ball sideways and backwards all the time when there’s time and space. At this level and/or in that system he’s miles off it.

If he’s playing I think it needs to be in that no 10 role where he can help us to press high up the pitch and where he’s not deep enough to be someone who has to try and control the game. He’s an effort player at this level and doesn’t have enough quality.

Leave the lad alone FFS. Try supporting our captain. He’s up against World Cup winning players

67% pass accuracy, which, when most of his passes are 5 yarders, rather than defence splitting forward passes, isn’t good enough.

I've had enough of him.

The only Brownhill that should be near Turf Moor, is the Avenue.

Playing top of the league in arguably the hardest position to play, someone like Brownhill will always look well out of his depth. I’d not single him out as though it’s a great piece of analysis, I would expect 90% of players in that position would have struggled today and they’d have been signed for big money

Not going to dig him out but I feel we'd be a better unit with JBG playing in midfield in a three

Brownhill, Ramsey, Amdouni the 3 worst players last week, all started today.

Baffling

Berge isn’t able to be the proper Berge due to not having a player of his quality next to him. Brownhill very good champ player, nothing more than squad player in the prem

It doesn’t matter who he was playing against today, he still had numerous opportunities to show more composure and quality on the ball. Unfortunately, I don’t think he has got the required level of those attributes to play effectively at this level in that role/shape.

I thought it was his best game this season.

He had a corner miss the first man.

He's always been a very good Championship player who's a bit leggy and half a yard slow physically & mentally at this level. Damn good trier, battler with more heart than a few of the new lads, jack of all trades who's not terrible at anything but he's exactly the same with Kompany at this level as he was with Dyche. The next best option for his position so a starter, but just a shade not good enough and it results in hit-miss games most games.
Not going to rip into him for it though, is what it is.

Simply passes under no pressure and misses target by miles.

He's still playing Dyche negative football.

Massengo needs a chance in his place. Brownhill is not our future

No point worrying about Josh we won’t be playing at this level for much longer. Recruitment must do better if we get back up.

We need to be looking in Africa for the next makelele.

Would like him to stay next season, but if he fancies a move to a Premier League club, he’ll end up with a lot of splinters in his arse.

at 28 it's unlikely he's going to improve dramatically at this point of his career. One of those players that is very comfortable at the top end of Championship but not quite at the current PL level. Hits 7's and 8's out of 10 most weeks in the Championship but I'd say struggles to get beyond a 6 in the PL most weeks. That could be down to those around him as well and the constant tinkering. He's not a bad player by any stretch of the imagination though

I like Josh and can forgive him his limitations at this level. He's not the loudest on the field and could have done with one or two stronger characters to help him.
What must he think of the massive turnaround in players this season ?

Anyone think Beyer when fit would actually be a better option next to Berge then brownhill?

Beyer has the ability to get past people, can play balls through the lines, can win headers and reads the game well

Yeah it’s a shame lokonga deal never happened.

At this stage now I’d probably stick Massengo next to Berge to over brownhill, if kompany can trust Trafford, koleosho, Ramsey and odobert, no reason to not stick Massengo in now

We need to show greater ruthlessness in moving players off our books in May-I think Alan Pace will push for it. We used to be great and getting good money for players past their best, but now there appears to be less focus in trying to generate income rather than putting them out on loan.I find it bizarre that Weghorse has been allowed to go out on 3-4 loans, having played less than half a season, when we should have got rid. Some will be going as they end their contract but in total , but in total the following need to simply go-Cork, Rodriguez, Josh, Taylor, Bastian, Egan Riley,Peacock Farrell, JBG ,Muric,McNally,Obefomi. Thats a sizeable reduction in wages that can be reinvested

No he didn’t. Robertson hardly got over the half way line in the first half as he was sitting in as Trent got forward. Second half Robertson had so much room on the left wing because Ramsay wasn’t doing his ‘job’

Second half we were also chasing the game so always going to be more space, that’s one of the quietest I’ve seen Robertson against Burnley over the years.

Everyone sees games differently but I thought Ramsey was solid today
