Cork
Remove the bench splinters. Play him.
Same for Muric.
ffs sort the 4 defenders out - O'**** is not good enough - If we still had Kevin Long pick him!!!!

Sober.
I Miss Tark's and Mee... Defenders that don't turn their backs (it's a football not a cannon ball - it stings nothing more).
Our defenders and MF so poor at defending.
Disjointed. Not a chance under Sean D this would happen...
... and even BPF is/was a better keeper than Trafford !
VK needs to tell the the IT/AI team who signi players to change their algorithm settings... it's ********
We've now got a lightweight squad, a junior squad ... of average players ... that has cost more in one season than 9+ seasons of SD !!!

Dyche teams defended from the front. We did too last year - Tella and Barnes were effective at pressing defences.
This season we have a bunch of invisible players off the ball (bar Foster and Fofana)

I get the sentiment but his legs looked to have gone last season. Showed in how many cynical fouls he was giving away. We need to replace him though that’s for sure.

It's sad that Cork, Jay Rod are Charlie Taylor are going out like this. Deserve a decent send off for their efforts down the years.

We need a younger version of Cork and Rodriguez next season, ones with physical presence.
Other than a late appearance to wave goodbye, Jack is unfortunately finished at Burnley. Give me the version of him that arrived from Swansea now and he'd help the team massively.

I would drop Amdouni and play Jay Rod with Fofana. My midfield would play Cork Cullen Berge and Odobert in midfield and Taylor plus 3 others at back. Plus of course Muric.
As per the rest of the season we will be playing Palace at the worst possible time. First game for the new manager who has his first training session with the team on Tuesday after their defeat at Everton !!!!

Taylor was injured but otherwise has been one of the few bright spots this season . Cork is of course finished , though bit suprised we’ve not seen more of Jay due to his experience and ability to play deep .

Muric
Assignon O’Shea esteves Taylor
Cullen cork berge
Benson JBG/odobert
Fofana
That team beats palace, it would also send a message to players that performances like yesterday are unacceptable, will he play it… not a chance.

I'd been very firmly in the camp that Cork would be a booking a game minimum, talented player but far too physically slow, his legs were struggling with the Championship late last season.
After how things have been I'd be tempted to throw him into a 3 man CM. Cork behind Berge/Brownhill (or JBG, or maybe Cullen, or maybe Massengo, just someone really). Don't know he'd improve us but couldn't hurt to try.

Unbelievable he’s not even had the slightest of game time.
The ideal replacement to play out the game against Luton

I had him down as our player of the season until he got sidelined. He's a better version of Cullen but to try and get him into a Premier League shape after basically missing the last 12 months of football may be difficult. Probably wirth the risk now though, id be tempted to go Cork Berge and Massengo, Brownhill and Cullen have struggled and we are basically down anyway, so probably worth trying Massengo from the start

Like our full back positions a replacement for Cork should have been one of our main priorities. Shame we didn’t get promoted earlier than March so we had a bit more time to plan for it.

Jack Cork would give us organisation. He would protect our keeper at set pieces . To not try everything incl Cork,Benson .Annas ,Muric and Cullen is infuriating. A whole host of players are worth less than they were in July .

Tbf i don't think Sander Berge and Jack Cork are that dissimilar. They both have great composure and always seem to find time and space when receiving the ball off the back 4, even at this level.
They also have similar weaknesses in that they dont get around the pitch too well and are probably too cautious with their passing. Berge could learn a lot from Corks defensive positioning though, hes not as good as Cork in that sense.

Feel for Jack, went from club captain to being frozen out. If I am right I don't think he has started in the PL under VK, and probably only come on for a few minutes. Cannot see if he is not in the plans why he is humiliated by being put on the bench. You might as well have Messengo on there for the experience. Cullen is similar-he has suddenly been frozen out, but the last time he started he had a great game v Spurs in the Cup-sitting in front of the back four. We have 13 points from 25 games-can we really justify not giving a guy with over 30 caps for ROI a run of games. For me Cullen was our player of the year last season

I am not in the "VK OUT CAMP". However if a switched on manager was to join right now , I suspect within 3-4 games he would sniff out our best 11, and the best system to suit the squad we have. We would spend less time playing certain individuals who over 25 or so games have yet to show any consistency or regular qualities

I have always been a JC fan. Along with Joey, he's been, in my opinion the best CM we've had in the last decade and I'm sure he can still have an impact. To see him bench warming is soul destroying when he is just the type of classy, experienced player we are desperately missing.

Jack Cork has been frozen out because of his age, I understand he was told this by the management team quite some time ago.
I'm lead to believe that he was told he wouldn't start another league game for the club.
Of course he isn't as quick as he was, I don't think he was ever the paciest, but has undoubted skills which has counteracted this throughout his career.
His experience and nous would be ideal at times in organising our team when we are going through difficult times on the field.
Of course I'm not saying that he should start every game or even play the full 90 minutes, but the experience he has in my opinion would be invaluable to our younger players.

One of my favourite ever Clarets tbh. Reads the game as good as anyone.
Convinced if he'd have had just a tad more pace/athleticism he'd have been playing for a top 6 side for the majority of his career.
Damn shame he hasn't featured in a midfield three this season; even for 30 minutes here and there in helping preserve a lead/draw or whatever.

If thats the case Targetman, its a shame the club offered him a two year contract rather than one.He would have been 32 when that happened. By my calculations the last year has cost the club circa £2m in wages. Luton bought Morris, Adebeyo, and Ogbene for roughly that sum. Makes you think

Ahhh in that case he’s crap as he made a mistake at 4v0 down
He’s been our best defender this season, playing in a disjointed defence that’s constantly been changing. Do we really need to go after every single player?
Re: Cork.

Like Targetman rightly says, JC never was the fastest and over the past couple of seasons that was only exacerbated with his advancing years. Noone is suggesting he'd be the "answer" or that if selected on a weekly basis he'd have totally changed our season, but after 20 odd games and barely more points than Everton have had confiscated, his years of experience could not go amiss. If we were half way up the league and looking competitive fair enough, but we're not and the refusal to even give him any kind of game time becomes increasingly baffling (and stubborn!!)

You could say "we've spent over 100 million and none of the players we've signed are any better than two 34 year olds who we already had on the books. A very sad summary of the situation we find ourselves in.
It's also incredibly disrespectful to dismiss two players who individually have each made more premier league appearances than the rest squad added together, and then some. Yes they're at the other end of their careers and their physical ability will not be what it was, but they have proven over the course of their careers they have the ability to play at this level. I cannot say the same for almost all of our regular starting 11.
Some teams see value in their experienced players still and even start them e.g. Welbeck for Brighton (33) & Willian (36).
