I hope the Venkys call their bluff and with immediate affect stop all funding, in fact make the announcement in tennis whites . Game, set and no match.

Looking at recent attendances it should hold the game up for a few seconds while they have to pick 5 tennis balls off the pitch.

Our massive rivals, wish them 10-0 defeats in every game, but good for them trying to do something to get rid of dreadful owners.
It can (has?) happen to us all and I hope they eventually win out over Venkys.

They’ve hardly been trying to get rid of the owners have they! Just pretend to boycott and use it as an excuse to explain their empty ground each week. Maybe they should try and let a chicken onto the pitch again.

Took an established Premier League side to the arse end of the Championship via League One, leaving their continued existence at the whim of the Indian government with no way out in sight.

What they need is someone to buy the Venkys out, just getting rid of them won't help them.

I’m assuming the game is on Tv?
They can want the Venkys out all they like, but ultimately they still need an owner with deep pockets to cover those losses every year
To reduce those losses they’d need to smash their wage bill right down and that will lead to a drop in quality without a decent scouting network etc
That’s then another relegation and everything that comes with it
They’re stuck in the vicious cycle of needing rich owners to cover losses but they’ve been in that position for decades now so it’s nothing new to them

Their downfall was always going to happen, they have lost money continually for a generation, have had a wages to turnover ratio far in excess of what is sustainable and this was the case BEFORE the Venkys took over.
Bolton were on a similar trajectory and look what happened to them.
Relegation was a major issue and accelerated their decline but whenever it happened, it was always going to cause them serious financial hardship.

If they want local celebrity ownership… they’re mixing up Lee Mac and Big Mac I suspect. Their wrath should be aimed at the Walker children… they had no interest in Uncle Jack’s legacy and palmed it off at the first opportunity. If anything Blackburn Rovers got lucky… their owners may have got it hopelessly wrong, but they have continued paying for their mistakes. I think they deserve a lot more respect than the Walkers who destroyed their father’s dream.

Pretty much spot on. Walker created a "trust" and those looking after that trust were more than happy to offload it at the first opportunity and they weren't too fussed about who was buying. I too find it incredulous that Venkys have had absolutely nothing but grief and bills from the minute they took over and yet are still prepared to pour money into the club as long as the Indian government doesn't prohibit them. I've no idea what they gain from it as on the surface it seems to be nothing whatsoever, but without them Rovers would be in severe danger of doing a Bolton or even a Bury!!

Jack Walker created a monster and it was the blueprint which led to Bolton, City, Derby and numerous others following suit. It was the model which meant a super rich sugar daddy could bank roll a club way, way beyond it's means and literally buy previously unheard of success. It looked so great, especially when they pocketed the PL trophy, that a host of others in the same mould jumped aboard their particular clubs. And how many have crashed and burned because when the sugar daddy goes and the money goes, the finances make absolutely no sense and it comes tumbling down. And that's exactly why FFP was dreamed up!!

The thing is though they've had nothing but grief and bills because they completely mismanaged (and continue to mismanage) the football club.
The bubble would have gone burst eventually, they undercharged for tickets for a long time to try and keep the ground as full as possible and the reality is that, like us, it's hard to be sustainable at the top level for a club of their size. But they had a terrific platform to do so, they had a great youth set up, some decent assets and the Venkys obviously had finances that they could have used.
I appreciate that without them right now they may fall in to a financial black hole but its entirely the Venkys fault- the owners are the ones continuing to run the club at a massive loss and have continued to do so- unsuccessfully for a long period of time. It looks even more increasingly likely that despite running the club in such a bad way and having financed it that the funds are likely to stop to some degree, so why would any Rovers fan want them near the club? Because they keep paying bills that they keep accruing?
I support the Blackburn fans in protests against them, still hope they go down to League two and have to play Gillingham away with the odd 8-0 Cup defeat to us but shitty owners can do one.

Tennis balls makes no sense. Would be way more effective to throw EGGS on to the pitch ! Links much better to Venkys and will be seriously difficult to clean up. Cracking idea !!

More disgusting is the way that they get away with it. It seems to me to be quite legitimate, but they don't have a problem and Newcastle and man city do.
If the payments into the club are effectively gifts or investments, then that ought to create little by way of ongoing risk. The risk comes when the payments in are loans, or in exchange for a tangible asset (the ground, the training ground, rather than advertising).
Yet the likes of man u with their leveraged buy out, Barcelona and the likeget away with it scot free. (and Everton don't).

If Sports Direct has any sense you would imagine they will put the price of tennis balls and Lonsdale trainers up in price.
Might as well make a few more quid out of them for their big night out.

We might be crap but they are literally 4 points above the relegation zone in the league below us. This game is their season cup final.
