It sums up the gulf between the Championship and the EPL.

All it shows me is that it's easier to score in the Championship than in the PL

He’s been kept out of the starting line up by a 17 yo midfielder filling in ant RB.
Imagine he’ll find that a ‘slight disappointment’ but pleased he grabbed a goal tonight and hopefully starts to make an impression.

One thing I always liked about Connor Roberts was his enthusiasm.

Course he did. Can’t fault that side of his game.

Roberts is a fiercely proud Welshman, sold against his wishes to a recently relegated English club by the love of his life - Swansea (who were strapped for cash at the time). On arrival he fell ill with a serious stomach condition which set him back early on.
He was clearly desperate to play for his home country Wales, for whom he had been a big influence for in their qualifying games for the World Cup later that year. This seemed to affect his commitment to Burnley’s league games prior to the WC (although he was certainly fired up when we played away at Cardiff (the Welsh rivalry probably).
He returned after the WC as a fully committed player and became a key man in our Championship winning side.
He started as first choice this season but as the league games turned sour so did his form and he saw red in one early game which cost him his regular place and has triggered the move to Leeds.
His temperament seems to only thrive in favourable situations and he should do well in this successful Leeds side, who I think will want to make the move permanent if/when they are promoted.

We were in the premier league when we signed him

You’re right but my thoughts were about his recent performances - the first part should read “sold to a relegation threatened English club”. Sorry.

Unless you’re playing Burnley or Sheffield United.

Roberts would still have more fight and desire for BFC than so many that will play this Saturday...
He busts his lungs covering ground and is always up for a 50/50 - how many do we have now that do that?
Allways willing to give all.
He can Play (and importantly opposition had to watch him - his movement in the final 3rd was always a fear for other teams)
Our now paper soft Midfield and Centre backs did not help him at all...
Yes he was poor more than a couple of times at the back post area... costing goals.
BUT...
HE's STILL BETTER THAN WE HAVE NOW!

The way I understood Kompanys comments were that certain players had dropped their levels and attitude when not playing and he sounded like one of them
