Amdouni

A lot of us have been saying since early October , that Amdouni is just a luxury player who doesn't offer much and is lazy . What does VK see in him to play him week in week out ? Surely he must see that our midfield is overrun every game whilst Amdouni just strolls around and never helps out .

Fofana up top and Berge attacking mid would do for me. Made no difference to us when he was subbed when we were down to 10 as he’s a passenger when he’s on.

I think he'll now hold the record the number of 3s given out to him in the player ratings threads over a season. I don't think I've ever seen so many.
Of course the coaching and culture at the club doesn't help, but he is one lazy boy.

Had him bang to rights early doors. He’s been a solid 3/10 most weeks since about October. Has quality on the ball when dribbling but no heart, no desire and thinks he can do as he pleases. He should be absolutely nowhere near the eleven, it’s insane that we’re effectively starting with ten men every single week.
He’ll be the first in with a transfer request too. Not sure what we paid but he has the stink of another endless series of loans to some crap league like Turkey.

The definition of a luxury player. A luxury we can ill afford when we’re scrapping it out at the bottom.

I haven’t checked this to see if it’s already been proven to be baseless conscpiracy - but you start to wonder if that contract has a ‘must start every league game when available’ clause inserted in it.

One thing I always used to laugh off was when posters claiming to be in the know suggested that we've signed players this summer with a clause in their contract that if they're fit, they play. Trafford was one for whom such a claim was made.
The team selections this season have been so bad that I'm actually beginning to think there might be something in it.

I thought Tresor was our least committed player but Amdouni has now surpassed him.
He is badly out of his depth and i suspect he'll be loaned out for the rest of his contract a la Weghorst

You never saw Barca in their prime, then? Messi, Suarez et al fighting like dogs to get the ball back when it was lost.
The best teams in world football have 11 players that work their b*locks off, first and foremost. Do that, and it gives you the right to play.

Him and Trafford. We’ll find out next Sunday. No other reason why they both continue to be picked which would make Kompany and co even bigger fools.

I probably would agree should he stay (definitely for Foster if he stays fit) but can’t see him sticking around. The level is chalk and cheese with this though.

You've got to defend in England. B@stard of a league. You've got to fight for every little thing. You aren't playing Andorra and Malta and Greece every week, you're playing Arsenal and Chelsea and even Villa and Newcastle.

Plus I don’t like the fact he deletes critical posts of Instagram

The most frustrating player I've ever seen play for us. Lost count of the amount of times I've heard Kompany bellow "press" at him from the touchlines. Amdouni typifies this season - for all it's naivety, arrogance and flimlisness. I've had enough.

In recent times I’d have Ben Gibson and Vossen as our worst 2 signings, there’s a clear player in Amdouni but he’s another that needs taking out the firing line

I don’t know what some fans watch, I think he’s technically brilliant and see a real player in him. Some of the dribbling and turns are outrageous bits of skill, the structure of the team is just terrible.
The sides so bad it’s easy to scapegoat the player who runs around like a headless chicken the least whilst the headless chickens who can’t pass 5 yards are given a free pass.
Taylor played almost the full game, he was the lowest rated player in our team (based on OPTA stats). Yet here we are bashing the young lad who was sacrificed after the red card and I don’t recall him receiving the ball once all afternoon.

He offers nothing out of possession and offers nothing in it either.

I think he could be an interesting player next season (assuming he's still here) in the Championship where we'd expect to be dominating most games, I think he could be pretty effective. But he's not been a good fit for us this season

I think he's technically brilliant with real dribbling skill including at pace, but he's also a luxury in our system and at our level.
I thought when Foster came back in Amdouni would do better alongside him, and he did, but not better enough. He's our joint top scorer, one of the only actual threats we have, but when we aren't able to do anything in the opposition half/third he's not offering enough. Frustrating, confusing player. Not a striker. Not an attacking mid. Seems like a deep forward/trequartista but we don't really play with that role and certainly cant afford a player who doesn't do enough linkplay and legwork for a relegation battler. You can only get away with a player not doing that at our level if they're a grade or two above attacking-wise from where Amdouni is. Unfortunately he's not the only one- Odobert is guilty of not supporting the team enough. Taylor doesn't offer enough going forwards for this system, neither does Assignon. Vitinho isn't defensively solid enough especially not with someone like Odobert in front. Everyone is a couple of attributes short.

He received the ball several times today with plenty of space around then still somehow managed to have a heavy touch with a dribble and lose it.
He could become good but he's another that needs a rest he needs taking out the team his confidence is shot

Listening to the commentary of the stream I was watching, you wouldn’t have known he was even playing until he was taken off after the red card. Never heard his name mentioned once during the game until then.
When he’s on the ball you can see he has the skill set to be a player, but that’s what we need in our current situation

I don’t disagree with you but if the structure of the side was better he could flourish. I’d love to see his distance covered stats, I feel like this lazy narrative is way over the top. He’s come off plenty of times knackered from running hard

I was astounded when he was picked again this week. I’m sorry but he is truly gash as a footballer and I’d be glad to never see him play for Burnley again.
