Where would we be if you thought you were losing the plot, Vinny?
Completely clueless!

Is it not just his way of saying that it's been his hardest season and he's learning from it?fidelcastro wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 7:38 pm"The absurdity of this job is that I’ll probably feel as though I’ve improved more in this year than I ever have in my life"

If he is learning, then he's learning at a very slow rate.Mansfield claret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 7:43 pmIs it not just his way of saying that it's been his hardest season and he's learning from it?

Given Vincent Kompany used to be City's captain and had a long successful relationship with City. Given that Lee Mooney was City's Head of Data Insights and Decisions Technology since 2015, don't you think that between the two of them they had both direct knowledge as well as the contacts to find out a little about the attributes of both Aro Muric and James Trafford from their time at City? Of course, Muric and Trafford are different ages, but both of them joined City in 2015.Carlos the Great wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 7:47 pmHow long will it take to learn that Muric is better than Trafford …
I remember a job I had 5 years ago, had a terrible last 9 months but honestly feel like I learnt more in that 9 months than I have in 19 years working. I honestly wouldn't change it looking back now as its made me better at what I do even though I felt well out of my depthfidelcastro wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 7:38 pm"The absurdity of this job is that I’ll probably feel as though I’ve improved more in this year than I ever have in my life"

Using that logic - which of the two did Pep actually use in a game and on the bench in numerous occasions?Paul Waine wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:00 pmGiven Vincent Kompany used to be City's captain and had a long successful relationship with City. I would really like him to tell us what he has learnt apart from the fact that he’s brought in a dozen or so players that aren’t good enough for the Premier league .Mansfield claret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 7:43 pmIs it not just his way of saying that it's been his hardest season and he's learning from it?
Goes with the millions of other shite threads.
This^ is obviously the sort of thing he meant. Didn’t he say something similar after the game at Blades last season?Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:02 pmI remember a job I had 5 years ago, had a terrible last 9 months but honestly feel like I learnt more in that 9 months than I have in 19 years working. Yeah Viva, because I'm always claiming that!
Thankfully you changed that job.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:02 pmI remember a job I had 5 years ago, had a terrible last 9 months but honestly feel like I learnt more in that 9 months than I have in 19 years working. If only there were other ones you could offer your wisdom on, eh Viva?!
You must have £20 mil probably north as a rough estimate spare knocking around as loose change.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:16 pmThankfully you changed that job.
VK should do the same. I don't want him to learn by failing any more, thanks all the same.
Not for the first time, I've no idea what you're talking about.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:19 pmYou must have £20 mil probably north as a rough estimate spare knocking around as loose change.

I wouldn't expect him to.

You said VK should change jobs. Either he walks away with something or he stays. What you are proposing doesn't make sense.
It's interesting actually... I have mentioned on here and in my circles that VK & the board were exhibiting signs of Peak Dunning-Kruger.. maybe now they've moved on.Moorite wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 7:58 pmI honestly believe he has made the comment referring to the massive change of a winning team. He was quoted he works best on high turnover and now he’s realised it doesn’t always work that way.
He’s young and no matter how good you are, there is always a learning curve.
Then you’re watching the games with your eyes closed or didn’t watch last season at all.Vim Fuego wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:18 pmIf you think the thread is shite then ignore it and let it die / or be a bit more open minded
VK may state he is improving and learning. But I'm not seeing any evidence of it
What I see is he only knows one way to play, and next season it may or may not work again
If you can't see we're going backwards on and off the pitch, then you're even more of a weirdo than I thought.KRBFC wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:25 pmFailing![]()
Funny to see you with your thong in a twist, after all those years of you trying to silence my opinion on Dycheball.
VK is not failing btw, he took us up year 1 and down year 2, he’s built a pretty good talented squad from scratch in that time and no doubt made the club a fortune along the way.
I’d say we’re better now than when VK walked through the door, put your dummy back in.
You seem to be saying we can't afford to sack him.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:25 pmYou said VK should change jobs. Either he walks away with something or he stays. What you are proposing doesn't make sense.
Disagree. He had a lot of success changing formation and personnel last season mid game if it wasn’t working. He’s struggled this season.Vim Fuego wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:18 pmIf you think the thread is shite then ignore it and let it die / or be a bit more open minded

You could say that & it wouldn't have helped. Quite a clever strategy when you think about it spend all the dosh so there's not enough to pay you outfidelcastro wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:30 pmYou seem to be saying we can't afford to sack him.
Is that because of the money we've squandered this season or as well as?
I'm pretty sure they can afford to sack him, but I don't expect it to happen yet. It doesn't matter what I think.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:34 pmYou could say that & it wouldn't have helped. Of course we’re going backwards, we’re getting relegated back to where we were when VK walked through the door (but with a bigger better squad), not quite the overall failure you made it up to be.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:28 pmIf you can't see we're going backwards on and off the pitch, then you're even more of a weirdo than I thought.

your expectations are waaaaaay too high, lower them and it all becomes more tolerable
What a crock of shite!KRBFC wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:50 pmOf course we’re going backwards, we’re getting relegated back to where we were when VK walked through the door (but with a bigger better squad), not quite the overall failure you made it up to be.
The problem is VK came in when we had no hope with no team, brought in 20 players and stormed the title in his first year so now you and others are expecting instant results year on year without any hiccups or mistakes. Sadly it’s not reality, we’ve made mistakes and hit VKs first bump in the road.
Losing is learning, the making of a man is how he bounces back from adversity, you aren’t even willing to see. You want him to be a victim of his own success because it blew your expectations out of reach.
You have no idea what my expectations are.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:54 pmyour expectations are waaaaaay too high, lower them and it all becomes more tolerable![]()

You do know that you are pointing to a trough in the chart you've copied and pasted.
so if they've got past the trough it makes even less sense pot him surely as some are asking for?CoolClaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:25 pmIt's interesting actually... Last time I looked Pep was City's first team coach. Muric is older than Trafford. Wikipedia reports that Muric was called back from a loan to be 3rd goal keeper when one of the other keepers was injured. Trafford was playing for England u21 before signing for Burnley.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:04 pmUsing that logic - which of the two did Pep actually use in a game and on the bench in numerous occasions?
Yeah, I can go with that; don't think they're fully past the trough mind, maybe just slowly realising that they're there...Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 9:30 pmso if they've got past the trough it makes even less sense pot him surely as some are asking for?
