I honestly believe he has made the comment referring to the massive change of a winning team. He was quoted he works best on high turnover and now he’s realised it doesn’t always work that way.

He’s young and no matter how good you are, there is always a learning curve.

According to some on here in the not too recent past he was destined for the dizzy heights managing man city. The sensible 1s called the crap out & said just wait let's see how he does this season first.

Given Vincent Kompany used to be City's captain and had a long successful relationship with City. Given that Lee Mooney was City's Head of Data Insights and Decisions Technology since 2015, don't you think that between the two of them they had both direct knowledge as well as the contacts to find out a little about the attributes of both Aro Muric and James Trafford from their time at City? Of course, Muric and Trafford are different ages, but both of them joined City in 2015.

I remember a job I had 5 years ago, had a terrible last 9 months but honestly feel like I learnt more in that 9 months than I have in 19 years working. I honestly wouldn't change it looking back now as its made me better at what I do even though I felt well out of my depth

VK is not failing btw, he took us up year 1 and down year 2, he’s built a pretty good talented squad from scratch in that time and no doubt made the club a fortune along the way.

Disagree. He had a lot of success changing formation and personnel last season mid game if it wasn’t working. He’s struggled this season.

I don't feel sorry for VK, he will probably become a good manager just as Trafford will probably become a good keeper.
I see their present positions as quite similar.
Both expecting great things but now wish things had gone differently.
I am assuming VK got a bit giddy with his self esteem last season and thought he could turn water into wine.
He will learn, but his reputation is now in tatters as far as PL jobs go.

I'm pretty sure they can afford to sack him, but I don't expect it to happen yet. It doesn't matter what I think.

However, should we be struggling in the early part of next season, then even the more patient of fans will turn, and indeed, so may the owners.

Of course we’re going backwards, we’re getting relegated back to where we were when VK walked through the door (but with a bigger better squad), not quite the overall failure you made it up to be.

The problem is VK came in when we had no hope with no team, brought in 20 players and stormed the title in his first year so now you and others are expecting instant results year on year without any hiccups or mistakes. Sadly it’s not reality, we’ve made mistakes and hit VKs first bump in the road.

Losing is learning, the making of a man is how he bounces back from adversity, you aren’t even willing to see. You want him to be a victim of his own success because it blew your expectations out of reach.

Because of Kompany's failure to strengthen in the right areas and his obsession with youth over experience, we're getting relegated and going back to where we started when he came in. Hardly progress, is it?

At this level, I at least expect us to be competitive, which bar a few exceptions, we just haven't been.

Last time I looked Pep was City's first team coach. Muric is older than Trafford. Wikipedia reports that Muric was called back from a loan to be 3rd goal keeper when one of the other keepers was injured. Trafford was playing for England u21 before signing for Burnley.

I don't think Burnley tried to sign either of City's first or second choice goal keepers in summer 2022 or summer 2023. Looking to buy young potential on both occasions. In summer 2022 for the Championship. In summer 2023 for the Premier League. For reasons that many on here can't see, but Kompany and Mooney and, presumably, others the club was prepared to invest in another young keeper in summer 2023, having had Muric in goal for the club throughout the Championship season.
