Ouch- feels like a defeat that!

why cant we see a game out?
Company tries but his change of tactics seldom come off.
as a fan we all knew that even at 2-0 up we wouldn't end up winning the game- we have previous.
we also knew that West ham would score late on/ injury time which they did.
2-0 you gotta win that game- surely!!!
Luton score late and we concede late- its either tactics or mentality with the team - maybe both but as a fan its really frustrating.

It’s mainly because we don’t know how to defend and we don’t know how to score. Causes us problems.

Lack of experience showing at key moments
Lack of composure from certain experienced players
Hard to win a game when your confidence is shot
Mind boggling substitutions
That's why we can't see a game out

Or…..Luton, Sheffield and ourselves all draw away and close the gap to Everton and Forest, but we do it against far superior opposition.

Maybe true but massive chance to gain 3 points on Everton and Forest and gain 2 on luton

Our defending is never controlled or "comfortable" in the way we frequently saw under Dyche, especially if we're ahead. But that means other teams always have a chance of scoring, even out of absolutely nothing, from the very first minute to the very last no matter how many are added on. It's all very helter skelter and every other team knows by now that you're always in with a chance against Burnley, no matter what the score and no matter how long has been played.

I listened to Chris Wilder’s post match interview after the Arsenal game, and he was quite open in saying the players were battered, confidence wise.
Kompany would never be so frank, but that’s exactly where our players are at too.
The jury is still out with VK as far as I’m concerned, but I dont think we should be too critical of the players today.
We’ve gone away to a team pushing for Europe and got a point.
In the context of this disastrous season, we have to look at it as a positive and take confidence from it.

Poor use of subs Jayrod and Benny for last 10 and go for a 3rd not sitting back and hoping for a point that's 5 points dropped from a winning position v WHU. Totally naive by VK

In a normal season it would have been a good point.
It's not just frustrating because we conceded late, it's because that's probably the most shots and good chances we've had since sheff utd.
Second half wasn't great but we had at least three really good opportunities on the break.
Great strike from Fofana and he lead the line better than anyone in any game this season (Fosters best games included)

It's a very small sliver the superior opposition which is cancelled out by a game less if that's the rate of progress which translates into some meaningful escape route it'll take more than 10 games.

Did anyone really expect us to win when 2-0 up as I certainly didn’t having watched us this season. The only surprise is we didn’t lose but nearly could have. Better first half but the game lasts for 90 +. You’d hope for some improvement somewhere on the pitch over an entire season.

The half time sub was a lot to do with it. Brownhill makes us worse. We then proceeded to take our only other winger off leaving us with no outlet other than fofana who refuses to pass the ball.

If we’d have held on,and beaten Brentford next week ,we’d at least have had a distant though slim hope with the Forest deduction to come . As it was we surrendered a 0-2 ,which but for a wonder strike from foo foo and an OG was a bit flattering .
2nd half they really should have buried us , we were wayward , panicky and even some ludicrous cheating from Assignon , a Berge handball and dreadful finishing from WH couldn’t save us . Our 2nd half chances were blown even with WH committing numbers forward and being pretty scrappy themselves in defence .

Not the first time his sub has totally killed the sides momentum.
Brownhill needs to be kept out of the line up at this level he is awful.

It's a valid point. As soon as I saw Brownhill on the touchline, my heart sank. It sank even further when I realized that he was coming on for Bruun Larsen, who, to my mind, was our best player today.

I understood bringing Brownhill on as Obafemi was getting battered in the centre. That should have been a straight swap with Bruun Larsen staying on.
Other than that I’m not going to criticise the tactical changes he made. They were playing two centre forwards and Soucek behind with two wide players pushed high. Can’t not react to that.

Which PL team in their right mind would take Brownhill?

No it isn't a joke. There will be more than one side interested in him if we don't extend his contract.
Playing people in their better positions tends to work for lots of teams, for some reason VK chooses to do otherwise. He isn't going to be of interest to most teams but a few will look at him as he brings energy and in the right team will do a job.

Defensive Centre Midfield.
Wolves and Leicester already shown interest.

Wolves!
He's played plenty of times in a defensive centre midfield role. He's hardly set the place on fire, has he?

They were being heavily linked with him before or during the January transfer window but it was made clear we wouldn't sell.

It's more of a handball than we have seen gone against us this season. Forest (a) when they ruled out Berge's handball the prime example.
Either way, we were due some good luck

The game in many ways highlighted what was needed this season, difference-makers. The goal from Fofana gave us something to defend and in turn, allowed us to create our opportunities as West Ham chased the game. It was an unusual game for us when you compare it to the rest of the season.
Kompany made the same mistake many people on here make in equating left backs as equal importance to centre forwards. Under Dyche, we had players who could impact games up the pitch(Ings, Barnes and Wood) which would give us something to defend at the other end. People don't notice the left-back as much when you've got a forward who knows where the back of the net is and equally people do focus more on the left-back when you don't have a goal-scoring forward.
This season we didn't sign Tella and went with Amdouni, this decision has proven to be a killer.
