Re: Fofana
I think his power and ability to beat a man is his strongest point in his game. When we do pass it to the likes of Brownhill in the penalty area we rarely score anyway. He might as well try and go on his own

you didn't see the fancy flicks and back heals giving the ball away when we were desperate for him to keep hold of the ball ?

Don't think there's a prayer he goes to the Championship.
Probably get farmed out to another PL side.
Hope I'm wrong on that though, he'd be great.

Jay Rod would have been a good choice at half time for Odobert or if JBL had a knock or is still lacking fitness then Odobert wide and Jay Rod in the 10

Lead the line well today. A bit wasteful at key moments but thought he had a good game. Needs more support at time and can’t blame him for going on his own on most occasions.

Re: Fofana
Thought he led the line on his own very well. Managed to make something out of very little on a few occasions in that second half. I'd be surprised if he fancied a season in the Championship having played in the Champions League and Bundesliga in the first half of this season, but stranger things have happened. Looks like he'd tear it up.

If we can get Foster back playing alongside Fofana we might just give ourselves a chance if we are within touching distance of survival.

Re: Fofana
Thing is, football does weird things, but for a side like us to survive we need goals. That guy can get them, he has shown that. Looking forward to Foster or Amdouni coming back in rested to partner him because Odobert in the hole isn’t the answer. We are in that last chance saloon where we have to rely on goalscorers suddenly finding the net with regularity.

Fofana showed the best side of him today.
But he looks short on football intelligence. If he gets an intelligent footballer that plays near to him, he will thrive.

I think the last chance saloon called last orders a few months ago. We need to rely on our goalscorers to score three a game because we haven’t got a clue how to defend.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 5:33 pmThing is, football does weird things, but for a side like us to survive we need goals. Re: Fofana
There would be plenty of goals in the team in the championship, if Brun Larsen would be happy to sign perm in the championship he would be too good, he’s got so much ability you can just tell he has barely played any football for last 18 months. Foster and koleosho likely to stay due to injuries next season will be scary and could even see one of Odobert or Amdouni staying to, who again will be too good for the champ.
If we manage to keep Berge and Cullen together to, find another cm and still got Massengo to come good

Re: Fofana
I really like this lad.
Looks a threat, quick strong and powerful and can score goals. His all-round game needs a bit of work but he still looks quite raw and he's played less than 100 senior games and most of them for Molde. He's already a good player for us but he looks like he's also got bags of room for improvement.
I'd argue there's pretty much no chance he comes down to the Championship.

Re: Fofana
I am not saying they are not good players. They are. Koleosho couldn't hit a barn door. The strikers don't get in the thick of it, owing g to the pattern and the midfield contribution is zero. Foster and Fofana yes.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 7:32 pmThere would be plenty of goals in the team in the championship, if Brun Larsen would be happy to sign perm in the championship he would be too good, he’s got so much ability you can just tell he has barely played any football for last 18 months. There was 4 loanees on the pitch and we are likely to sell in the summer. I wonder if wed think of selling Foster to fund the Fofana signing. They bith look excellent but getting Foster on thr pitch seems to be proving tricky.boyyanno wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 9:39 pmI really like this lad.

Re: Fofana
Strangely I think foster would be less effective in the championship. He needs space in behind, something which he doesn’t get in the championship as teams put 10 men behind the ball. Fofana is much more adept at creating space for himself, as is amdouni. I’d rather have them two for the championship
Re: Fofana
Ive not seen enough of Foster against low blocks to make a judgement really. Im discarding his initial 6 months.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 6:33 pmStrangely I think foster would be less effective in the championship. He could be a 20 goal man at least at Champ level, he has similar attributes to Andre Gray but is basically better at everything ftom what ive seen so i dont see why he wouldnt score a lot at that level.
We probably also need the Fofana type as well like you say though, or someone who can drop in to the false 9 role. Id be sniffing around Danny Welbeck, hed be a great signing and would offer the experience i presume we will be losing.
