Vincent's Number 1 Fan

Until today I was Vincent's Number 1 Fan. Unfortunately this is no longer the case.
Bringing Brownhill on after 45 minutes was a total disaster.
Irrelevant what WHU intended, Vincent made a huge mistake.
I hope he will admit his mistake.
Basically he invited WHU to win the game which they almost did.
I was extremely disappointed with conceding 2 points to WHU.
I must admit to still having us to finish on 34 points but with 3 points today that would have been 36 !!

made the same mistake at home against the Hammers tried to shut up shop , you would think he had learned from that game but obviously not, best policy of defense is to attack in my eyes as they were leaving a lot of space to exploit and likes of Benson would have loved it..

What with Forrest and Everton hopefully being docked sufficient points it still might be that Burnley do escape relegation this season.

It wasn't the biggest mistake bringing Brownhill on. West Ham had to throw caution to the wind at 2-0 down. They threw plenty of attackers on.
The defence was struggling 2nd half as you would expect.
They had 4 shots on target all game. One pea rolled through to Trafford, another hit Paqueter (sp) a yard off the line and he let the other two in.
Trafford only had to make one proper save in the game and we win.
You can't have a GK who doesn't make saves in a relegation fight.

I thought we did as well.

If played like that every game this season we'd be absolutely fine. Think some are definitely over reacting - yes it's probably come to late but more performances like that to close the season will definitely be encouraging to take in to the summer/next season.

There will be better teams than us not win points against West Ham. Think our poor showing this season overall has thrown any realism our fans have out of the window.

It is astonishing that a thread attacking Kompany morphs into a thread attacking Brownhill and morphs again into an attack on Trafford.
Every thread on this board seems to be hijacked by the same posters intent on repeating the same accusations and the same lines of criticism time after time.
They have the right to do that, undoubtedly, but its so effing tedious now.

If Muric had played and Brownhill remained on the bench we’d have won that game 2-0 most likely.

Yesterday, reading this forum, I got the impression that some toys were well and truly out of the pram because we didn't get a hammering from the Hammers. Moving forward, there were lots of positives and well as negatives, but some people only want to look for the negatives, and then spend the next 7 days wallowing in it on here.

We played ok in that we started on the front foot, which hasn’t really been an issue this season. We created very little in the first half and scored a worldie then lost control of the game, which has been an issue whenever we’ve taken the lead this season. The own goal gave us a flattering 2 goal lead at half time.

We were then battered for most of the second half, save for a spell in the middle where the tempo dropped. More individual mistakes, more square pegs in round holes, more frantic defending, more ill-discipline, no defensive organisation or shape. We were fortunate to escape with a point and I feel it would have only needed another 5 minutes for West Ham to score a winner.

A positive was that we looked to exploit West Ham’s reckless approach in the dying stages and but for some casual finishing we may have nicked all three points.

A good result, and better than a lot of performances this season but not convincing.

I'm actually the opposite of the opening poster.

I am firmly in the Kompany in camp but my support was beginning to wane after the Arsenal and Palace games.

Even though the past two performances have only got us one point it has been far more positive.

No matter what division we are in next season the last thing we need is a massive hangover from wretched performances to finish off the campaign.

It's not been great at all but not bad enough in the grand scheme of things to pot him

Dont agree with this. We were the better side comfortably in the first half and 2 up was the least we deserved. 2nd half we chucked a goal away immediately and then obviously came under pressure but we weathered the storm quite well and continued to be a big threat with fofana especially. We then came under a big wave near the end as they chucked everyone on and went for it, thats when we buckled but i dont think VK helped there by repeating his Brighton mistake and sticking 5 at the back.

We then had 2 huge chances to win it after going 2 2. To maintain a threat under that amount of pressure was impressive.

No, you won't see anything like it, cos he has to be the worst we've ever had. I've tried to see positives as each week goes by but there was even 1 or 2 different schoolboy antics this week than I've previously seen. Coupled with vk's mindless changes and team selection they've double handedly produced a disastrous season, as has been already said, why try to mend something that's not broken.

Many fans of clubs that get relegated will spend part of the Summer feeling they have been hard done by.They will think of the VAR and refereeing decisions that went against them, and all the ifs and buts, missed chances, injuries. What has been coming through on this forum since Christmas is yes we are going down, we fully deserved it, and undoubtedly we are one of the worst three teams in the PL. So at least we have something to be thankful about

Yesterday was absolutely nothing to do with Trafford and everything to do with the collapse in shape of the team and individual mistakes yet here you are blaming Trafford.

You make decent points.

But a decent keeper bails their side out. Keeps them in games. Ours doesn't.

I have remained patient long enough.

We don't judge players by them not making mistakes. They are judged on what they do in a game.

Not many keepers save 2 on 1’s, and if they do it’s because the attackers have fudged their chance.
