Stadium Tour
Stadium Tour
“Alan’s message”
“All about for ever forward” (clearly not are we)
“It’s a 5 year plan isn’t it”
“Vincent’s young team”
“We might stay up you never know”
Was more of a brainwashing session than a stadium tour, was spitting feathers by the time it finished. If it wasn’t full of kids I’d have spent the whole time arguing with them tbf.
What a load of guff.

Re: Stadium Tour
I considered this version of our clubs strategy to be a load of b0llocks and didn’t need to be patronised like I haven’t been sat watching it all season.
I may be in a minority thinking having far less points than 2 years ago counts as forever forwards but apparently it does - my mistake I guess.

Re: Stadium Tour
Always nice to see behind the scenes! Just didn’t need the hard sell. The old boardroom is always a favourite- I can imagine there’s been some scenes in there over the last 50 years!
Sat in bensons seat as an excited 36 year old, that was good

Re: Stadium Tour
Sorry JR you're going to have to lay out the tour in a little more detail; how it started, when different topics were raised etc

Re: Stadium Tour
Hi JR1882. I'm not trying to argue but just wondered what had "upset" you so. There is a starting video in which Alan Pace speaks for about 1 minute out of the 4 minutes of highlights of Burnley's football historic moments. Other than that I don't believe his "vision" or "plan" for the club was mentioned again. The Trophy Room, sitting in the directors box and the substitute seats, seeing the dressing rooms, referee's room, walking round the pitch, down the tunnel and seeing the Press Room seemed pretty much what a stadium tour should consist of. Sorry if you disagree, each person has their own view.

I absolutely loved the tour that I went on just after Christmas. The tour was led by Shaun, and I would recommend it to everyone and anyone.

Re: Stadium Tour
I think you went on the wrong tour. Seems you booked on the ‘Pacebots’ tour by accident.
If you’d booked on the ‘Unhappy clappers’ tour they show you decaying parts of the stadium they should’ve upgraded years ago, take you past the bins and Chester Perry rifling though the old paperwork, then across to Alan’s office so you can hear him arguing with lenders for credit extensions. The guide is a Rovers fan and tells you a double relegation is on the cards.

Re: Stadium Tour
The stadium tour used to be full of half-arsed poorly researched gosssip level insights… though it got better when they started employing ex-players to act as guides. I don’t think you can complain that the stadium tour sticks to ‘the club message’.

Last year we took 28 people from Teruel in Spain on the tour and they absolutely loved it!

Re: Stadium Tour
It was a 3 year plan when Kompany became manager, wasn’t aware it had changed to a 5 year one , bearing in mind we were ahead of schedule after year 1 of the 3 year plan .Chester Perry wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 8:51 pmWhich plan are we talking about? because I recall there has been a 5 year one and a 3 year one

Won't every business of any size, particularly those with a turnover in excess of 100m have a 5 year plan. And you don't stick with that plan for 5 years then have another, there is always a plan for 5 years ahead.

Re: Stadium Tour
My first stadium tour started courtesy of Mr H. Potts. This is one of my cherished memories, as a young lad.
The baths were definitely in place then!
My next was courtesy of the very Honourable William Morgan. This was when I presented John McGreal with his PFA Player of the Month award, on the pitch.
Willie had lots of banter and each time we bumped into Andy Lochead's tour group, the two would ve telling tales about each other.
Most pleasurable and no hard sell or 'club messages'.

For reasons only known to my inner head, instead of Willie Irvine, I have typed Willie Morgan in the original post above this one. Restored this way, as too late to edit or delete first post.
