Has anyone heard any news/rumours of a summer pre season tour, I throughly enjoyed last seasons? UTC

The Austria trips were brilliant, all three of them. Frightening thought that the first of them was twenty years ago this year.Jimmymaccer wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 11:12 pm017_17.jpegWe drove down to Austria……Abtenau? Fab fab fab trip…….
We were also there. Was brillaint in Salzburg, Beaky organised mini buses to get us to the ground, we stuck around Abtenau drinking whilst Nick the Greek and his team mates dined in the square (he was a gent) whilst a thunder storm came in! We also caught the opening game at Munich's stadium against West HamJimmymaccer wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 11:12 pm017_17.jpegWe drove down to Austria……Abtenau? Me too. I went to the Genk match. Ended up with videos of me on social media in the main Square when the players walked past and in the ground at the front of the stand with a big stack of cups.durhamclaret wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 6:24 pmHas anyone heard any news/rumours of a summer pre season tour, I throughly enjoyed last seasons? I think they might be bedding a new pitch in, and some stand works, so i wouldn't be surprised to see no home games this pre-season either tbhPoulton-le-Claret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 11:37 amHope we get a foreign team for a match at the Turf. Disappointed we didn't get a single home friendly last season.
Yes good points, I think you will be correct there! I will have to hope for a return of the friendly away at Accrington thenŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 12:30 pmI think they might be bedding a new pitch in, and some stand works, so i wouldn't be surprised to see no home games this pre-season either tbh
I was almost singing, Didn't we have a lovely day, the day we went to Bangor!Jimmymaccer wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 11:12 pm017_17.jpegWe drove down to Austria……Abtenau? In the days of Gifton ……Nick the Greek keeper was there…….stopped in Saltzburg on the way back…..

There was a 'comp' with rapidz where the winner got to go to the Premier League fan fest so that makes me think that perhaps we aren't going to the US to play football this year - plus Villa, Liverpool, Arsenal, and United are all already going and have announced a few fixtures.1989_claret wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 6:56 amI am 99.9% sure we are doing something in the USA but not necessarily the pre season tour with the first team. There’s a smaller tournament that was played last year which included a Wrexham side v USA Women’s.
Seen a few comments re ground works? Safe standing? Would perhaps galvanise the fan base a bit for next season?ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 12:30 pmI think they might be bedding a new pitch in, and some stand works, so i wouldn't be surprised to see no home games this pre-season either tbh
Agreed, really enjoyed Genk but I would probably have done both Portugal/Spain games instead had everything been announced in a timely fashion.
A few days after the following years season ticket announcement...South West Claret. wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 1:41 pmWhen does the club usually announce a pre-season tour does anyone remember?

Thanks CT for reminding me it’s 20 years!!!!!ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 10:57 amThe Austria trips were brilliant, all three of them. Frightening thought that the first of them was twenty years ago this year.
I don’t think we’ve ever had better with two games to watch
Did Genk (thanks again for sorting the bus) and did Betis but probably would’ve done Benfica too with more time and had a week in Portugal from Belgium.

Last time was when Ternent was in charge wasn’t it.
The short notice made it very difficult - and I'm sure with more time I'd have done the Portugal and Spain games as one trip.1989_claret wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 8:07 pmDid Genk (thanks again for sorting the bus) and did Betis but probably would’ve done Benfica too with more time and had a week in Portugal from Belgium.
Ah right I do remember a Burnley eleven playing Dawlish as I’ve still got a Dawlish T shirt, Dawlish now are no longer as they had financial problems and folded.

Burnley FC President, Stuart Hunt added his excitement for the Club’s involvement in the Tournament
It's a while ago now - I think it's shocking. That's a title that has always been used as a special recognition. When I first started going it was James Grimshaw who I think had previously been chairman. Then it was Doc Iven given his years with the club as club doctor and director and finally Jimmy McIlroy for the most obvious of reasons.
It may come as no surprise that the blurb for the tour looks to be incorrect.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 2:39 pmIt's a while ago now - I think it's shocking. Then, all of a sudden, Stuart Hunt becomes president.
Just US style Corporate titles, that's all. The UK equivalent would be some sort of director
VP is a similar level to an associate director in a lot of places I think isn't it?quoonbeatz wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 3:36 pmIt's defo a corporate thing, I got a job as a vice president, which isn't anywhere near the top job.
He's listed as the club president in the match programme
Does that mean we have to address you as Mr Vice President Quoonbeatz?quoonbeatz wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 3:36 pmIt's defo a corporate thing, I got a job as a vice president, which isn't anywhere near the top job.
Burnley FC refer to him as the club president in their official match programme. I’d expect the football club to be far more likely to be correct than the Burnley Express. He’s also referred to as the president in this story on the club’s website.NewClaret wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 4:52 pmCorrectly referred to as a Director in this article:

Jimmy Mc was President of Business Operations ? I had no idea he had that role.wilks_bfc wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 7:31 amThis is the article on club website
As we know Jimmy Mc was the last person in the role and tbh I wasn’t aware anybody had taken that role since
I know some my say “it’s just a title” or “president is just an Americanisation of director”, but having somebody that’s only been involved in the club for 5mins listed as “President” is insulting to those in the role previously
That has now been changed to president - as per club publicationwilks_bfc wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 7:31 amThis is the article on club website
