Tour de Vinny - Anderlecht to Burnley

Hi all,

I mentioned this on the podcast last week but me and a small group of cyclists are undertaking a charity cycle at the end of next month from RSC Anderlecht to Burnley (via Manchester City).

The Tour de Vinny came about as an idea last summer to celebrate the career of VK and raise money for three worthy causes - The Barry Kilby Prostate Cancer Appeal, Andy's Man Club and BX Brussels (which is VK's charity in Belgium).

We've had a great response from some local firms (Haffners, Altham's Travel, Hanson Construct, HPS Hargreaves Plumbing Supplies and Oros Aerospace) who have sponsored our special jersey and we're all set for departure from Anderlecht on April 29, arriving back at the Turf on May 3.

If anyone is interested in following what we're up to then we're @TourDeVinny on X/Twitter. And if anyone fancies throwing in a couple of quid then the GoFundMe site is https://www.gofundme.com/f/tour-de-vinny

Cheers!

Greavsey

With any luck by the time you do the tour there’s an additional stop to Burnley Job Centre to complete the circuit!

Good luck with it all 👍🏼

Some people don't change unfortunately, even good causes are hijacked by the shouty rovers fans on here

Just giving this a little bump. We're about £85 from our original fundraising target of £2,500 that's being split between Andy's Man Club, The Barry Kilby Prostate Cancer Appeal and BX Brussels (a charity set up by Vincent Kompany).

The van with bikes is departing Turf Moor tomorrow at about 11am and the five of us are following it the day after on the Ryanair rattler into Charleroi.

We're leaving Anderlecht's Lotto Park on Monday morning and VK's dad Pierre is going to be on hand to wave us off which is quite exciting.

If anyone does fancy throwing anything into the virtual bucket then the link is: https://www.gofundme.com/f/tour-de-vinny

Thanks - Up the Clarets!

There's something called 'reading the room' which seems to have eluded you. The bike ride is for very worthy causes and to be much applauded. Well done to all of you and hope it's an enjoyable experience.

The Tour de Vinny has now finished its European leg! Three days of cycling in Belgium and Holland in unseasonally warm weather!

The crew are currently sat on the P&O Ferries red eye from Rotterdam having a beer and listening to a questionable turn crucifying James Taylor, Frank Sinatra and others!

Thanks for all your donations and support so far!
