I always have to do a quick mental check for which league Bournemouth are in. You could have told me they were in the Championship this season and I wouldn’t have batted an eyelid.

As it stands it'd pull Forest into bottom three. Luton v Forest at the weekend

A crowdfunding effort started by Bournemouth raised £3k and paid for all the Luton coaches, according to comms.

I’m not sure it matters to us anymore we are relegated .. I’d like Luton to stay up ..they have spent hardly any money and given a lot of teams a shock

The commentator over here just said that the Cherries trust set up a go fund me type thing and raised a few grand so they could pay for all the coaches for the Luton fans. This is obviously the rearranged game from the Tom Lockyer incident but even so that's class.

Just out of interest as we seem to be watching the same programme, what channel are you watching. It’s Optus Sport here in (ahem) Belgium.

Kept the squad together that new the system then made some very clever signings, sensible way to do it.
Also their young managers debut premier league season

To stay in this league it’s important you beat teams like Bournemouth at home .. no matter what VK says about how tough this league is

If all the promoted team went back down that would probably spare us some blushes.

But I'd like to see at least one underdog make it.

It's good that we (supposedly) have a plan and are looking to the future but soooo much can happen in football, and it can happen in such a short period of time; there really are no guarantees at all - for players panning out, anything.

Luton's success this season puts us to shame, imo.

Our performance against Bournemouth was the one that nailed our season, for me.

Could be the same tonight for Luton. Out of the bottom three, good luck to 'em.

Fair play to Rob Edwards he’s probably a candidate for manager of the year.

Feel sorry for Kompany at this point. Edwards is doing everything Kompany wanted to do but on a fraction of the budget.

As accurate as they may be, the Luton comparisons EVERY time they play are really tedious. They’ve been good value. We’ve been ****. We get it.

In more interesting news, a Luton win tonight really sets the relegation run in up. Brentford, Everton and Forest all drawn further into it. Brentford come to us on Saturday under more pressure to get the expected win.

It’s certainly a bit embarrassing for VK when he says the difference in quality between championship and premier league is huge etc .. Like I’ve said before if the team we had last season with maybe Berg and Couple others couldn’t stay up I be ok with it

They've battled, dug in and took their opportunities all when it counted.

We've not. Several times leading in late into the game (West Ham x 2, Luton, Brighton) and not been able to hang on. When we've gone 1 down at HT and barely mustered a glove second half.

So yeah, Luton fully deserve to stay up and I'm easy between one of Everton and Forest going down.

If Luton stay up it will put to bed the nonsense that the gulf between the Premier League and Championship getting wider and make plenty on here and many pundits look stupid, the reason we will be relegated this season is rank bad management.

Not sure this is fair on Luton.

They have scored 45 goals so far this season. There certainly not a plucky scrappy side like you suggest.

There an attacking team. They actually play how I expected us to play, score a shed load but concede a load.

Probably a 6 point deduction heading Forest's way and a further couple of points for Everton, Luton well on their way to surviving.

Said at the start of the season Villa would get top 4, Luton would stay up and we'd finish between 10th and 14th, oh well 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Take Barkley/Lokonga out of their side and the rest are Champ/League One journeymen. Superb job by Rob Edwards.

Love Rob Edwards the more I hear him speak.Proper manager destined for bigger things. He mentioned this lovely philosophy of theirs-regardless of score to make sure they get the last goal. If they are losing 3-0 they score the last goal and the fans go home happy. Today on Radio he said there was no guarantee how they would fare in the last 10 games but he would guarantee his team gave it everything.

How often have we heard VK big up our players and what they do in training each day to the witness a dire performance. Luton have also put our recruitment to shame-they dont buy players from a spreadsheet or a set of analytics instead they have gone for lower league players who have some balls. They are finding a way to challenge teams and score goals

Didn’t think this would happen to be honest but Forest in the bottom three as things stand with both Brentford and Everton in trouble. Going to be some battle now to avoid 18th place.

All of this is true.

But being realistic, if your point is correct that Edward’s will be off to better things is true, and their success is based on lower league players with balls, how long will this approach last?

I admire their achievements this year. If you look at football in the context of one season only, they’ve done great. I’m not sure the strategy they’re deploying will benefit them for very long though.
