Would look so much better if we hadn’t had the points against Forest and Luton stolen from us by shocking VAR decisions

If's and but's, I'm just happy that we have shape and are being competitive, no one can argue, we've been dreadful and deserved to be where we are.

Give over what? Yes we have been poor, but those 2 decisions have been accepted as being wrong

Sky Sports reporting that Forest will learn the outcome of their charge of financial rule breach "early next week".
So the points for them may change...

With forest about to be deducted points it would have been very interesting

Minus 6 apparently... Will be appealed so probably 4

Whilst I agree we have had numerous chances to take points which we have failed to do. The fact that Forest are near us is in part due to them being on the wrong end of some odd ones (from what I remember). This season we have had some very nice situations we've thrown away (e.g. playing teams when they are out of form or missing key players).
VAR is well down the list for me.

Might be Monday for the big decision but the Prem won't want to lose Everton and Forest, so say minus 6 points then an appeal might see them both be given just enough points to keep them both up.

I don't get the appeal process with this.
It's almost a given that the appeal will be successful and it just seems like pre conceived compromise.

But we will be back in the scramble, I'm optimistic.

I think this is conservative
Penalty last minute v Bournemouth also missed by VAR
2 pts from safety and still to play the team in 17th at home completely changes the picture

Forest have had some poor decisions on VAR as several other clubs will have
Liverpool at Spurs was one big one

It would look better if we hadn’t dropped 20 points from winning positions - but let’s blame it all on VAR
I don’t disagree that VAR has cost us SOME points, but let’s be honest we are in this position from our own doing

Everton 10 point deduction reduced to 6 points. Imagine Everton and Forest get deducted 6 points this time and we survive by one point from either of them. Then the Appeal is heard after the season has ended. Where would that leave us ?

VAR apologised for the Forest error, and just about everyone in football saw the Luton equaliser as a foul.
Outside of those two "these things even themselves out" as they say

Think I read something about all appeals having to be heard before season's end.
Be chaos if not.

Don't forget Villa's penalty.

Don’t forget the one Hammers should have had in the last minute that VAR didn’t give.

The point of this thread is that is simply not true. Those robberies late in those games would have seen us 1 point from safety after Forest get their punishment. We’ve been poor, but so have they.

Or the Toney equaliser today. Things haven't been great by any stretch of the imagination but it's swings & roundabouts it's as broad as it's long.

Yes but it's easily turned on it's head by the favourable decisions that fell our way it's not all bad.

Such was the acceptance I think the BBC conducted a poll & roughly a third of the people thought the Luton goal should have stood.

Exactly it’s not conclusive over 30% I’d still call significant whichever way it’s dressed up.

Look folks, those things are now done, we were wronged in those games, but if we all stay as we are from now until the final game, and we win that final game, we stay up (assuming the two further 6 point deductions happen). Everton are at Arsenal in the final game while we play Forest here.
Can’t give up, that’s for sure, and the only thing those robberies can do for us now is add fuel. Other than that we simply move on.
