BFC and wrestling

My 2 young grandsons are booked in to see a wrestling match, somewhere
at The Turf on Saturday along with their dads.

They received messages yesterday to inform that the event
had been postponed for 2 weeks.

Apparently someone forgot to apply for the licence !!! Don't know where
the fault lay, but it's a poor showing.

The lads are devastated.

Turf moor is just the venue. The promoters are responsible. Don't blame the football club

Hasn't some of the devastation been eased by the fact it is delayed not cancelled ?

You'd assume it will be either the centre spot or the fanzone, depending on levels of tinpot, which do appear to be rather high

Perhaps if older, but at just turned 8 years of age, it's been a body blow.
All part of growing up though I suppose.

In 2 weeks time they might be asking why you have brought them to this it's crap :D

It's in the fanzone if the photos of past events on Burnley pro wrestling's socials are anything to go off.

I was asked if I wanted to go along and, although I love my time with
the grandchildren, I politely declined the offer. Couldn't watch that garbage
no matter what.

Oh blimey, hook line and sinker. You want to see the amount of wrestling
figures, rings, trophies etc that they have. Big, big business and not bloody
cheap either. Got one figure for his birthday last week and it was £20 !!!!

Not a euphemism, but their teddies are getting one hell of a beating !!!! :D

I'm going to the Turf tomorrow but not for the wrestling (thankfully) - just a PSA check at Barry KIlby's event.

I'd like to say that my wrestling days are over but in truth they never started. :D

I have tickets and was planning on going tomorrow with my two lads so thanks for putting this on.

I haven't had an email satying the date has changed and it's still showing at the 23rd March on the BFC events page:

Think they need to better communicate the date change by the sound of things.

Hadn’t heard of this but this type of event was something I’d expected to see more of at the stadium when ALK came in to try and maximise income from the stadium. All for it, especially if the money is put towards much-needed upgrades!

I sincerely hope that this has not been a hoax. I'll get in touch
with my sons in law and get them to double check it. Thanks
for posting that.

Love those wrestling events, kids love it too.
I’ve been to one at the old leisure centre before, it’s all good for the kids.

I remember going to the Thompson Centre as a kid when Big Daddy was wrestling, the adults loved it more than the kids back then :D

I took my lads to the mechanics to the wrestling a few years back and got sat next to a man in his 40s with no kids.

It wasn't you wasn't it? :)

They're crazy nights. Kids hyped up on ice cream in their overpriced merchandise, trying to get in the ring to fight the bad guy wrestler.

No that time although I have been told I’m enjoying it more than the kids on a few occasions 😂

Last association we had with wrestling was Rocky and Selwyn away at Wycombe (?) Hillarious. .

Much the same as I know that the ending to Macbeth is fixed, or the most recent season of Stranger Things is fixed.

The fun is in watching skilled performers show you how it happens.

Glad you postes, I had not bought a ticket but was planning to go down with my son. We've been to a few around NW as he enjoys watching one of my mates wrestle, they had a fair number in last we went to the Turf.

This reminds me...

Has anyone ever turned on one of the ITV channels at about 11 o clock and theres some dodgy third rate Wrestling program on?

They clearly "dress" the lady wrestlers to provide something WWE cant!
