In what world do they think it’s any less likely to have trouble with the away fans in the JML than the Longside?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 5:37 pmLeisure is right - this season they have been accommodating some of the Jimmy Mac corporate guests in the Longside upper during the match. That led to the problems, certainly at the Everton game. So, for next season, they have extended the seating in the Jimmy Mac lower to accommodate them. It's not for away fans per se but if away fans are in the hospitality in that stand then they will now be sat there.
I sit in the JML and we regularly have away fans sat behind us in the hospitality section. As you can imagine, this season there has been a lot of cause for celebration for away fans. There have been more than a few occasions where idiots have openly celebrated goals. It’s an accident waiting to happen.
I’ve contacted the club multiple times to raise concerns and been given a generic fluff response. Surely it’s as easy as ensuring at least one of the hospitality party have a previous purchase history?

its par for the course, all grounds have away fans in hospitality. companies use it as a way to entertain guests, usually inviting supporters of the teams we are playing.FeedTheArf wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 9:18 amIn what world do they think it’s any less likely to have trouble with the away fans in the JML than the Longside?

its down to the behavior of the individuals, no the policies of the club in my opinion. I go in hospitality quite a bit with away fans, and generally most behave and understand the need to have some decorum. I've also seen the opposite. I've also participated in hospitality as an away fan, and behave myself.

Yes but clever business people realise that money can be made indirectly as a longer term cause and effect.claptrappers_union wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 10:24 pmAnything with Burnley Football Club can be answered with a question…
Does it make money? No? Then we won't do it.
For example, getting the fans enthusiastic, energised and enjoying meeting their players and manager should statistically have a benefit out on the pitch, just by a big chunk of fans staying more behind them when things get tough. They also tend to be the fans with bigger influences on social media. I really do think the absence of these award’s nights harms not just us but the club, manager and players too.
A large chunk of the manager’s mind should be thinking “how do I stop the fans from turning and ideally have them roaring for us”, look at Chelsea now for the problems in that regard with jeering fans and it may cost Poch his job. I’m not sure our manager or directors have yet got the experience to really excel at this.

The ladies game played at Turf Moor later this month against Liverpool Feds is £10 entry to ground
The Jimmy Mcilroy hospitality ( where they have removed some seats) offers , I think , about £57 for the privilege of a pay bar ( about £5-6 a pint) and think a few nibbles - not sure if a meal is included.

Be nice if a local biz in the Burnley Borough could host something like that. Not sure why some official club events are taking place in Manchester now.

The way people are going on you’d think they were hosting it in Monaco, not Manchester that’s 25 minutes down the road.

Re: BFCITC Dinner - 4 May 2024 @ Hilton MCR Deansgate
You have quantitive data on that? We manage to raise funds just fine in Burnley on a match day, no? So what's the difference?
Not saying have pie and peas gala in a working mans club FFS - there's plenty of good quality, upmarket venues in the area. Just feel like the club should be trying to pull the town up with it's success, that's all.
Guarantee on a similar thread approaching the end of last season it would have been, "oh whats everyone getting bothered about, so what if the player of the season awards are in Manchester..."
It's Burnley FC, that's why.
