Kompany and Co are a busted flush. I have totally lost interest in watching them at any level. Live or on tv.

I'm rather elderly but can someone explain to me what a 'busted flush' is? It keeps appearing especially when someone seems to be discontented.

They have took 600 quid off the price and a lot in corporate just prefer the drinks.
But then is it worth paying an extra 700 quid than a ST in the JM end just to access the bars and have a comfier seat?

I went in this week and they were queuing out the door for renewals which was a bit of a shock. Like the old days before everything was done online and in many ways nice to see despite mine being a really quick query I had to queue ages for!

Big rises at Forest, adult prices up a lot and concessions tightened like at many clubs. We still seem at the low end but football is pricing out ordinary fans more and more. Soon it will just be the fairly affluent middle classes who can afford it.

I agree and I think it’s disgusting. I went in before the game on Saturday and there was a family of three who looked pretty destitute to be honest, in there renewing their season tickets. They were lovely with the lady serving them. Pretty hard to accept the club is raising prices to squeeze a few more ££ out of these loyal fans. I’d have loved to have seen Alan walking past!CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 10:56 pmBig rises at Forest, adult prices up a lot and concessions tightened like at many clubs. Genuine question, aside from these tickets, is there anything now that we buy as consumers that is :
A) better product/service and cheaper
B)Better product/service with only slight increase in cost/frozen prices
Sick of being flogged of my hard earned cash, for next to nothing more for it. Why do we put up with it?

Just renewed. Factoring in my Ticket Exchange stash on account, it will cost me £12 per game so a no brainer even if I only attend half the matches.
I am over 65 so there are some compensations for ageing but given a choice I would rather pay full price if I could have all my own teeth and be able to run after a ball.

Just to clarify, if people are destitute it’s because of energy and food price rises, travel & accommodation costs and not being able to find an NHS dentist.NewClaret wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 11:13 pmI agree and I think it’s disgusting. Don’t disagree with any of that, my point was really more that I don’t really see it as necessary for the club to increase those pressures on fans at an already difficult time. Not for the relatively paltry income it generates vs what we spend in wages.ClaretLoup wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 10:54 amJust to clarify, if people are destitute it’s because of energy and food price rises, travel & accommodation costs and not being able to find an NHS dentist.

I’d far rather have one less player in the squad/on the wage bill than have raised ticket prices in this way.
Accept Alan is very visible to fans and think that’s one thing he does brilliantly well and far better than any other chairman I’ve known.
Re: So who's renewed their ST?
I have not been contacted by the club with regards to renewing my season ticket. No e-mail, text, letter or phone call. I'm wondering if it may be because of the e-mail I sent to complain about being asked to leave the stadium while watching the on pitch celebrations, at the last game of last season. Fortunately I keep track of advice on this site and have been been monitoring my Burnley account. It appears my dd is being renewed. I hope they don't mess it up.

No contact here either and I share your concerns. I was in the ticket office two weeks ago and was told the emails were being sent out in the following week. Nothing arrived and I went in yesterday to be told they were sent out a few weeks ago. I'm on a tight budget now and the increase is big for me, but the even bigger increases for under-22s is horrendous. Re: So who's renewed their ST?
The u22 category was brought in to keep 18yr olds in the game.
It's an age where they probably have to start paying for their own ticket, despite not much money.
If you keep someone in a ST til 22, there's a good chance they stay on for life.

This is fundamentally about the level of increase that many fans are facing - at a time when many are facing the biggest price increases in the very basics of food, heating etc.
This is not a luxury item costing tens of thousands of pounds like a Porsche or Audi.
We already know how important watching football is for many for their mental health.
In the whole scheme of things for our club these increases bring in relatively little in extra revenue - it’s just not important at all and smacks of pure greed and taking the club away from the loyal fans who supported them and gave them money when match day income was their biggest source of revenue. The shift towards corporate hospitality and penalising the under 22s and over 65s is truly awful.
Compare this strategy to that of Bayerns president:
“ We could charge more than £104. Let's say we charged £300. We'd get £2m more in income, but what's £2m to us? 🗣 “In a transfer discussion you argue about that sum for five minutes."
We could learn a lot in this country from Germany on how we treat our football supporters

Re: So who's renewed their ST?
the Germany analogy is over used, apart from a few standing tickets at Bayern, their ticket prices are a lot more expensive than ours. If you want a decent seat at a league game you're looking at €50 + €5 booking fee.
Season tickets are €350 upwards. You can get some cheaper standing tickets, but again short supply.
Don't believe everything you read.
Football tickets are luxury items, if i was in a position of whether i spend the money on food for the family, or going to the game then there is only one choice. Regardless of loyalty, everyone has a choice to make.
the additional hospitality packages on offer are only equivalent of what most clubs offer these days, we've been behind the times on that front for the last few years. Apart from those minimal effected rows in the JML the hospitality offering has no impact on your average supporter.
The concession discounts are still generous, altho appreciate increased from previous years, but then again similar to what you would get at any other entertainment performance.
Burnley football club is not a charity, community centre or any other type of subsidised activity, its a commercial enterprise.
pay it or not.
Its frustrating when prices increase, but theres little we can do. Everything has increased.

depends how you want to interrogate the data. Most expensive match tickets (german) vs most expensive match tickets (EPL) are comparible. Where the data is skewed if looking at averages, or cheapest tickets available. Germany tend to have a cheaper cheapest ticket if you will, but its the same as Easyjet advertising 99p flights or whatever, you're unlikely to get one.
Our tickets are cheap compared to other premier league teams, and some Budesliga teams charge more than us.
if you look at the top 6 or so in the EPL, the ticket prices skew it for the rest of the teams.
its impossible to do a direct comparison, but certainly all fans in Germany are not paying £104 for a season ticket. its not all smiles and rainbows that these headline quotes make you think

I really do sympathise and am trying to be very fair with comments on this.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 11:28 amI'm on a tight budget now and the increase is big for me, but the even bigger increases for under-22s is horrendous. But when I look at Forest I see their seniors will be £375-£650 with the latter being equivalent to where you sit, i.e. fairly central good seat. Whereas we will charge £242-£360.
Then we have an under 22, under 18 and under 12 category whereas Forest is aged 17 and 13 priced at £285 and £199 which is way, way more than ours and also a big increase on last season.
Not sure if this is apples and pears and if they have a cheaper early bird, but I think these are the prices on their website.
So I do think that our prices remain way, way lower than most and also generous with the young age category definition. I don’t see the need for the rises in concessions, I don’t applaud it, but many clubs are doing worse.

The quote from Bayern Munich was to illustrate how little importance in the scheme of total revenue match day income represents. It also illustrates a completely different attitude and cultural differences to how they treat their fans. Average prices of cheapest single tickets or cheapest season tickets is half (at least) in Germany than it is in EPL.
It’s nothing to do with headlines. Of course there are exceptions - just like there’s exceptions here with some of the ridiculous London club prices.
But the biggest concern about prices over here is the recent rate of increases in the last 5 or so years in the EPL. Look at the recent increases at Notts Forest for example.
Not really sure what point of view you are putting forward or trying to defend to be honest….other than the “I’m alright jack” stance.
Re: So who's renewed their ST?
No train travel isn't free for away fans, your ticket sometimes includes local transport only, but certainly not intercity or outside of the town/city.Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 12:45 pmThe quote from Bayern Munich was to illustrate how little importance in the scheme of total revenue match day income represents. like i say, you're picking up on the "cheapest ticket", thats what gets the headline. Next to nobody is getting that.
Price of tickets for my family of 4 has hardly changed over the last 10 years, which is incredible compared to the prices of other luxury and non-essential goods.
The point i'm trying to make is that in grand scheme of things, seasons tickets at Burnley are incredibly good value compared to elsewhere in our pyramid, if you look at the same level, bigger clubs and some lesser clubs.
as i've said previously if you dont want to pay the price, dont pay it. nobody is forcing it on you.

That's Bayern effing Munich mate. The best/biggest team in Germany in one of the greatest Cities in the world - much more disposable income than Burnley ffs.
No one said Burnley is a charity - but as I've mentioned before on here, getting young Clarets on the Turf is crucial for the long term health of this club. It's easy enough for a young 'un to pick from a plethora of successful teams either in England or just the North West, getting families on the Turf and giving kids a buzz for it prevents that.
Might not matter now but in 10-20 years we need the younger fans - especially if we happen to find ourselves back as a mid table Champ team.

Re: So who's renewed their ST?
Whatever we charge compared to others isn’t relevant. The percentage increases for old and young are obscene.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 12:22 pmI really do sympathise and am trying to be very fair with comments on this.

Re: So who's renewed their ST?
You brought up the seats at bayern being €50+5 euro, so I gave a like for like comparison for one off games in the North Stand /JH Upper tier which...is again more expensive than Bayern Munich.
Some of the discussion has evolved onto why we're allowing ourselves to be absolutely shafted by the moneymen.

yes, in response to someone quoting "£104" for a season ticket at Bayern. Keep upCoolClaret wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 1:15 pmYou brought up the seats at bayern being €50+5 euro, so I gave a like for like comparison for one off games in the North Stand /JH Upper tier which...is again more expensive than Bayern Munich.

again, its not more expensive. An equivalent seating position at Bayern would either be €60 or €80 + €5 booking fee according to their price list.
"allowing ourselves"? what do you suggest? you could always not buy one out of protest?

Do you understand how relativity and specifically wage relativity works?GetIntoEm wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 1:19 pmyes, in response to someone quoting "£104" for a season ticket at Bayern. Keep up

The fact that our priciest tickets are the same as Bayern Munich's is fair bonkers just in and of itself.
The average salary in Munich is about €67K (£57K) / year ... UK average is £31K - burnley/lancs will be significantly less.
One league doesn't rip their fans off, one does - it's that simple.
The Season Tickets will continue to rise in price - give it 2-5 years and all of a sudden you'll be paying 1.5-2 x the price you were 10 years ago, do you think that's right?

Are you being deliberately stupid ?
I’ve already posted twice why I mentioned Bayern.
Not going to continue the debate with you as some of your comments on this thread are embarrassing but please stop quoting me out of context. It’s not my fault you do not understand the point being made.

Re: So who's renewed their ST?
I just had a quick browse of Bundesliga teams' ticket prices that in a similar position to us in their table.
You can literally buy a one off, adult ticket for an FC Köln game (the one here is against Eintracht Frankfurt) for €13. Of course we're being ripped off (not just us, all fans in England).
