Trawden had the pleasure of a visit by Princess Anne today, what a wonderful experience for all the villagers who have worked together to make Trawden a wonderful community and place to live with their hard work in sorting out and bringing together the community centre, community shop and theTrawden Arms .Well done to everybody..I have to say what a lovely lady She is,no airs and graces on her whatsoever and a pleasure to talk to..

My parents have both invested in the pub/shop and they’re very proud that the village is making a big success of it.

Trawden will always be home to me

She has turned out alright :) ...

Especially when considering Prince Philip (her father) once said of her "If it doesn't eat hay or fart she's not interested" ...

Annes always been one of the hardest workers in The Royal Family :)

I was just reading about Princess Anne's trip to Trawden, and yes, she's the most unassuming of all the Royals. A credit to our country.

Ohh, and it was raining just for an exciting change of pace.

Had the honour and privilege of being introduced to The Princess Royal some years ago. On completion of a major refurbishment of a building on the University of London Campus a number of Project Managers from the various disciplines were introduced to her in her role as Chancellor of London University on the formal opening day.

As said previously absolutely lovely lady, no airs and graces at all about her.

Did she nip to the Turf to pick her brother a bit of merchandise up to cheer him up ?

Her hairdresser must have the easiest job in the world. Her hair style hasn't changed in 50 years. Imagine that. Weekly hair do - usual Anne? Why change things Gervais. X 2500

One of two royals I’ve met. When I met Princess Anne she was pregnant with her son. She visited the place where I worked. I found her really pleasant and engaging. I’m not sure her hair was quite like it is now back then.

A retired copper I know worked on the royal protection team when the royals stayed at some hall in the trough of Bowland on the Dutchy of Lancaster estate, he said Ann and Andrew where the ones concerned about the police hoards and Ann in particular would often bring tots of whisky out.

Great for the village and in particular a nice bit of recognition for the volunteers that keep the shop, library and community centre running. The pub was pretty full afterwards too.

I suspect like everyone else under 40 I wouldn’t recognise her if she punched me square in the face.

Being a minor royal would be a great gig. Bit like being a third choice keeper at a PL club.

Hardly a minor though, she's front line.

Interesting. Princess Margaret was a regular visitor to Wycollar when I was a kid. believe her best friend lived there. Wonder if it’s related.

A friend of mine was in the police and was stationed there when Princess Margaret was visiting. She once turned up with a leg in plaster after a fall and he had to carry her up and down stairs. He said she was a delight.
