Appalling Abuse Directed at Jay.

Absolutely not condoing it but I've been amongst Burnley fans down in Brighton singing "Town full of queers".

There used to be a lot of awful homophobic chants like “we can see you holding hands”, “does your boyfriend know you’re here” and Cooee” or “hello sailor!” Fortunately these horrific chants seem to be a thing of the past.

I’m sure I also heard a chant from the Brighton fans along the lines of “you only sing if it’s racist”?
I was in Bob Lord though near half way line so I could be wrong. Nothing to like about this lot yesterday.
Mind you, we have just had another thread locked from our some own which didn’t serve to do the town of Burnley any favours by implying many of us are racists because a handful of people booed yesterday.

I agree, there definitely was those chants in the past. Not sure about “horrific” though. A soldier getting his leg blown off in Afghanistan is horrific in my book. The homophobic chants are just that. Homphobic and distasteful.

Always had a dislike for Brighton since my dad decided it would be a good away trip to go to on Boxing Day in the 90’s where we got beat 3.0 and I could have spent the day on the Sega Master System.
Don’t remember their anti northern chants when they visited the turf with their begging buckets.

Jumped off the coach with my mate at Colne to try catch last orders coming back … missed it my minutes. Kind of summed up the day.
