Didn't realise he was 28. No chance we'd be paying any decent amount. Can't think of someone who fits our 'model' less for incoming transfers - rightly or wrongly.

No they didn’t. It was this season we used them to source players.
Where’s this information from?

Someone on here itk said we’d been using them since Kompany arrived. And maybe even that Lee Moony was in MtB (if I remember correctly).

It’d be very odd for Kompany to just start using his trusted recruitment tools/people a year in to his role.

No I don’t want us to do any sort of business with them and give them any sort of income.
Me either. Someone will pay something for him with that record this season but I’d bet it’ll go more the Armstrong way.

Agree Vegas. Pretty sure that’ll be one of Kompany’s key learnings from this season in the Prem.

Even Brighton, known for their technical ability, all stood out as massive units on Saturday.

We won’t be signing any lads until he gets rid of his signings which were almost “surplus to requirements” within weeks of signing them. This in itself could prove difficult.
At least it looks like the ineffectual Mike Tresor will be going back to his parent club and not too many millions of pounds lost from the pointless exercise of getting him to Burnley in the first place.

He started using Mud for all of his recruitment at the end of last season. There was a thread on here about it months ago.

Whatever you say about Kompany’s recruitment in the promotion season including loanees and their goals, he and Mud have certainly failed miserably in getting players in this season who are able to cut the mustard in the Premier League.

Big job awaits in the summer trying to offload some of them without making too big of a loss on them.

One season wonder, we want a younger player who can make an instant impact and develop into a very good PL player.

The next Toney Watkins Mitrovic Ings

Not the next Armstrong Akpom McCormack

Out of all the strikers in the Championship, the one I’d bet on is Morgan Whittaker because of his age size pace and clear ability (given he’s played wide right a bit).

Similar in a way to Vydra. Scored loads from midfield for Derby.

We can't 'take Szomics' because we're not significant enough to make that deal at the present time. The asking of the question is fairly arrogant in my view.

I would take him in the championship for 8/10m, but it's a heck of a jump to the prem.

He seems to find loads of space up top for Rovers, he wouldn't get that at Burnley as teams will sit back and crowd the area more.

According to Transfer Markt, he is contracted until summer 2026 with an option to extend by a further year - having signed this contract in Nov 2023.

My guess is they would want around £15-20m to sell to us and I wouldn't pay that.
Glad someone posted this.... he has 2 years left on his contract with an option of a third (doesn't say in who's favour), but in any event he is not out of contract or in the last 12 months. I reckon they will want 15 mill, will sell at 11+ add ons but it won't be to us.

To be honest, I would rather we NEVER buy another player from them. Don't care how good, or not, they might be.

It would feel bad to be mumbling, "You'll always be a B*******!" to a player playing for us.

Attacking midfielders who can score lots of goals are worth their weight in gold. Pity that MUD analytics couldn’t have found one for Burnley.
Doesn't change the fact they will get nowhere near 30m for him.

I know it is trendy to have a go at anything connected to the club, but maybe the when people looked at him they saw at almost 29 years old his best season at this level was 6 goals, last season he managed 5 while Brownhill scored 7 in the same league as him.

This is exactly the sort of scouting that saw someone like Karel Poborsky end up at Man Utd
