5 Championship matches shown each weekend.
So 10 of the 24 teams will not have a Saturday 3pm kick-off that weekend.

Also terrible for the likelihood of the excellent Ticket Exchange being continued. If few games sell out, few games will be resold. Bad for those who live away where this is a good way to get some cash back for games they cannot make.

A bit presumptuous using Burnley to promote the product? 😉

Be fabulous for fans like me who have given up the season ticket as the price has rocketed and I have only been to 1 game last season and no games this season but will be able to watch numerous games next season at the age of 80 in the comfort of my home

I think the bonus of no VAR will get viewers more likely to watch.

Does this mean they'll be 'properly' shown, as opposed to 'red buttoned'?
I saw a few red button games and it seemed like just a single camera - poor angles, local commentary, no replays - like watching it on the radio.

Minimum of 4 camera’s for championship games, and increased advanced warning of fixture changes compared to this year. Apparently all of the TV fixtures up to the FA 3rd round weekend will be decided prior to the beginning of the season

Sky are currently recruiting for a Head of Production for the new EFL deal. Hopefully it’s well put together.

And all midweek games, bank holiday, carabao, opening and final days of the season.
Most of which I assume will be on their “streaming” service. Which should have atleast 4 camera

So when are games likely to be on apart from Friday nights and Saturday lunchtime? There's already way too much footy on TV, not really sure we need even more.

Our opening game will be televised and will be at 3 o’clock on Saturday, that’s 3 a.m. by the way. :D

This sounds dreadful. 5 Championship games, 5 League 1/2 games, 5-6 Premier league games all shown live every weekend?

The biggest kick for fans though is it looks like whilst the 3pm blackout remains, they are going to broadcast every League 1 & 2 game on international break weekends?

I'd really like to see a rule brought in that the closest TV pick gets the most inconvenient slot, sick of seeing all London Ties selected for Sunday 2pm and then a Northern Team vs Southern Team on Friday/Monday nights. Cannot wait for the TV bubble to eventually burst.

I'm not so sure about that. Paying mediocre players 50k a week isn't surviving. Football is awash with greed and corruption. If it wasn't for TV money I'd like to think the game would return to some kind of normality and a more even playing field, with games being played at traditional times. Sky has been dreadful for the game, especially for the attending supporters.

Tbf, they've only come to rely on it because the influx of TV money has allowed player wages and transfer fees to escalate to ridiculous proportions which "gate money" and other commercial income could never have sustained.

With no price cap and the prices likely to be charged at some of clubs for away fans next season fans might be glad of the chance to watch more games on sky.

Am I in the minority that it doesn't affect my efforts to get on the Turf whether it's on TV or not?

I live in Newcastle, but when I'm picking matches to attend, I NEVER look to see if it's on TV before I book tickets.

Pointless arguing about TV money. It was always a Faustian pact, and it's not going to go away. It will always be here in one form or another.

It wouldn't die but it would mean the players would earn less money for kicking a ball around grass.

Burnley are on that promotion piece because this TV deal isn't something that's just been anounced, it came out almost a year ago.

As we all know, Burnley were leading the way in the Championship last May and that's why Sky used us at the time.

Beginning of May last year when this was announced - the link to the much shorter thread then (not thinking we'd be going back down I guess) I linked further up this thread.

The question mark on my post was a wink emoji. Not sure why system doesn’t show it. Meant to portray that it was not meant as serious comment but tongue in cheek. I’m fully convinced we will be relegated. But none the less has you have made the point I see absolutely no reason why the promo could not have been updated in nearly 12 months.

Even with the TV money, many clubs have massive debts, and they will still have to be serviced, regardless of what their players earn. Without TV money, they would go under. Anyway, I know I've just got drawn in, but yet again on here, we are posting about something that ain't going to happen.

Not the Turf so much but definitely for away games, particularly the more expensive/awkward trips.

Clubs go bust, start again. Learn lessons...

Don't be so sure, the British economy hasn't grown for 15 years. There are no plans or a belief that this will change anytime soon. The tv money is slowly but surely starting to dry up.

I don’t think the emojis from your phone keyboard show correctly. You’d need to use the smilies available or type ; ) without the space ;)
