That mean he'll be leaving at the end of his scholarship?

He played against us for Hull recently too. There are a few players who seem to have gone missing. Rohan Vaughan played as a trialist for QPR last week.

Shame about West. When you pay a fee for a youth player you expect it to work out a bit more.

It’d be interesting to see the outcome stats on PL and Champ clubs signing players playing adult football and then chucking them into their youth teams. Even where these players are playing non-league football, I can’t help thinking they’d have been better staying put or making a smaller step to continue adult football.

I don't think any stats will come out good for progressing out of academies.

Is there many that come in to a youth set up so late?

There are a lot of people bemused by this one to be honest but usually the decisions prove to be right.

We did something similar a few years back with Jordan Barnett, signed him from Penistone Church in 9th tier and played him in our u18s I think. He did end up making some appearances in the football league with Oldham and in the National League with Notts County, which probably wouldn't happened without his spell with us.

He's back at Penistone again now, and enjoying it which is the main thing. He does look a class above there to be fair.

Only an armchair follower of the youth team but whenever I’ve seen Callum West in the games shown via you tube I thought he looked a decent prospect and usually the stand out player.
