Attwell was VAR, just as he was with us at Villa away when they got a few dubious decisions that day.
This will be of interest to us what action Forest take.

Every time they get a decision go against them they complain. When a shocker of a decision went in their favour against us their manager at the time Steve Cooper thought it was good.
Their official twitter can't be doing that.

I had to check it was legit first, truly staggering a professional football club would think that is the way to handle things.

If they get another points deduction and/or we stay up at their expense then I will fully believe in Karma - justice finally served for his/Olympiacos' deplorable actions in Piraeus.

Whilst I agree, and I have no idea whether there is any merit to the tweet but it's good to see someone calling it out - this season seems to have been full of controversy from poor refereeing and VAR officiating. I wish it was gone.
Don't like the owner of their club at all but with the money at stake, it's no longer a sport - its a business and these decisions have bigger financial impacts than ever before.

What they have done here in making the Luton reference is question the integrity of the referee. That has to be unacceptable. I assume they will get a charge from the FA that will end in a fine.

They've just questioned the integrity of the official - VK got banned for the same, lets see what the punishment is because there has to be one

Hopefully that puts the thought of reducing their points reduction in the bin. The decisions do look highly dubious though. Glad it’s evened itself out after our game at their place.

I actually agree that a ref who supports a team in the battles at the top and bottom shouldn't be given teams in and around. I doubt they even think about it but it opens up a can of worms like this.

The 2nd claim, for a handball, has always been given as a penalty & should have been given. The others, less so.

I’m pretty sure that game was thrown as well but we should have easily beaten them at home. Think Vokes missed around 3 sitters that’s day.

They’ve reacted in the wrong way but why have the League opened themselves up to this potentially happening. Surely covering their own backs and appointing someone else couldn’t be that difficult?

Bit of a stretch to suggest a) the VAR official was biased and b) he was biased against Forest in a game vs Everton. Only 1 point between them as the game kicked off. Both eminently catchable by Luton, particularly as Luton still have Everton to play.

Surely this can't do their relationship with the PL any favours. Hopefully the PL don't look on them fondly with the points deduction appeal.

Could forest be deducted further points if the fail on their appeal?

I'd personally have only given the third one by Young, the handball would have been harsh, the challenge where he kicks his leg is interesting because there is definitely more contact than the Villa player against Burnley and the same referee gave Villas but didn't give today's.
Consistency is the problem.

Bad decisions are made in every game because VAR is run by humans and humans make errors.
So the logical leap to make is widespread match-fixing.

Watched the whole game and saw all three claims several times from several camera angles and like the pundits I thought all 3 imo should have been given
Carragher said the performance of the referee and VAR official was shocking but the statement from the club was like one a fan would send after the game from the pub.
It will be interesting to see what happens now
1 Could be a fine or additional point deduction as punishment
2)Could be just the opposite and the appeal against 2 point deduction could be upheld.

Forest manager more or less just said he was thinks there’s a conspiracy against Forest. I think the club has lost the plot.
We’ve had some stinking decisions against us this season, but at no point have I ever been thought it was a conspiracy.

Attwell should not be officiating in any capacity on any games that may affect Luton's PL safety.

They’re absolutely correct.
Atwell has made some baffling decisions this season, not just this game, which have affected Luton in a positive way. Some of our games included in that.

A quick Google states their appeal is set to be heard on Wednesday. No date for decision yet. Same article suggests they were given a 6 point deduction reduced to 4 points due to an 'early plea' and 'cooperation'. Can't imagine they're still seen as cooperative. An appeal certainly doesn't indicate cooperation. You'd assume going back to the original six point deduction is one possible outcome.

notts forest to “ consider their options”

Didn’t they used to be a “ proper club “? You’d think they were Brighton or Arsenal the way they b1tch and bleat , and rant on about conspiracy theories . It almost defies belief from a club that cheated and should be thrown out the division , yet still tearful of their tiny points deduction .
I dearly hope we send them down ( with or without us )

When JRods “equaliser” was disallowed at B’mouth the VAR came up green=goal. Somebody told VAR to have another look at it. After a delay it suddenly went red and was chalked off.

Sky quoted at the time that Forest had been advised before appealing that a points increase was unlikely.
It’s remarkable that they had a bigger loss than Everton off the back of signing more players than Everton and got a smaller deduction. I doubt they’ll have the balls to increase it though. They’ll probably knock 2 more off now it’s getting close!

The same man has had the identical scenario to consider and given polar opposite decisions which have negatively impacted Luton’s competitors.
He may not be bent but it doesn’t look great from the outside looking in.
