Seat swap process

Post by Claretmisterg » Sun Apr 21, 2024 4:36 pm

Just wondered if anybody has done a seat swap before and knows the process. Specifically it would be good to know whether you can do it online or over the phone or if you need to attend the ticket office ? Also does anybody know whether one person can swap a friends and family group or does it have to be done individually by the actual ST holder ? Many thanks in advance for any useful information.

I phoned the ticket office on the morning of the seat swap period opening last spring/summer and got it sorted in less than 5 mins.

Cheers taio. Does anybody know whether one person can swap for friends and family or does each one have to attend in person ? Going to be logistically difficult for us if everybody needs to do it individually.

Not sure. But would suggest you have them recorded on the friends and family list on the account of the person who will be calling.

Did mine about 6 years ago and at the time I could do it online and move the friends I sit with as they were on my friends and family list.

For anyone thinking of calling in to the ticket office this morning, just to let you know there's a bit of a queue to get in at the moment.

Been here about 25 mins so far and just reached bottom of the ramp.

I’ve not had email advertising seat swap nor can I find anything on website. Is it today and can only those not working or within travelling distance swap in person at ticket office? Thanks in advance.

I got there just before 9 and it took over an hr to reach the counter but they sorted everything I needed without fuss, but a friend of mine on the other hand has been ringing since 9 and no one at the ticket has picked up yet in 2 and a half hrs so that's poor from the club

Is it seriously only available at the counter and via the phone?

Why can't it be done online. Stuck in work all day and can't ring and certainly can't go to the office as live over an hour away.

Not that affects me, but I do think there are flaws in the system for this.

There should have been a method of registering your interest in swapping prior to today.

The way it currently is

Person A goes into the ticket office:
A: “Hello, I’d like to swap my seat in the JMU to the BL stand please”
TO: “Sorry, there is no availability in there”
A: “Ok, bye”

5mins later
B: “Hello, I’d like to swap my seat in the BL to the JMU stand please”
TO: “No problem sir we have spaces there”

A seat is now available in the BL stand that person A could have had

About an hour and 15mins for me to reach the counter but managed to get sorted pretty quickly with the requested 3 seats 7 rows nearer to the pitch in the BL and no metal column partially obstructing our views.

Staff helpful and efficient which I have to say, I've always found them to be whenever I've been into the TO 8-)
