House have Clitheroe 162 all out at a sunny but chilly Chatburn Road. Ali Ross scoring 101 of them. House new pro Dan Salpietro with a 5fer on debut.

Just been on the Horsfield watching footy, not many sitting outside!
Burnley 2s bowled out for 152.

Neither of the two local clubs have started their innings well.

Burnley are 28/3 chasing 99 and Lowerhouse are 34/5 chasing 163.

Are any of the bowlers wearing gloves? It's certainly cold enough! ;)

House 40/7
As it stands Ali Ross has scored more runs than the rest combined. Both pros failed with the bat but been good with the ball.

1 or 2 fielding in bobble hats at Colne.

Burnley have won but couldn't bowl out the opposition in 50 overs.
Lowerhouse have lost but got the bowling points to keep them off the foot of the table.

Bit of an odd game at Clitheroe. Only Ali Ross looked to have any touch with the bat and nobody else posted over 20. Not often one player scores more than the other 21 combined more or less. There were 20 extras in the Clitheroe score at least too and they were far from happy with their batting performance (I overheard a conversation in the clubhouse at HT :D )
I asked a Lowerhouse player walking round after he was out if it was the pitch. He said no..just one of those days. Perhaps a lack pf preseason practice knocks for all but Ali Ross? :D

Good game at Accy, despite the arctic conditions, with Gt Harwood chasing down 205 with a full 16 overs to spare! Both pros provided excellent entertainment with some of the other lads chipping in nicely. Good to be back and enjoyed the distraction from the footy!!

Good win for Burnley. Clitheroe, as always, will enjoy that one.

Is it ever anything but at Accy. Always thought of it as being one of the coldest although not quite Haslingden and definitely not Bacup.

I never liked playing cricket in a jumper, but at Bash it was a must.

You obviously played there in the middle of summer if you only had 1 jumper on. It’s the coldest cricket ground (along with Gt Harwood) that I’ve ever set foot on.

I believe Bacup had a good win at Nelson recovering from 32 for 7 to post 160 with Nelson falling 20 short. Bacup’s pro started the season where he finished off last year with 50 and 4 wickets. New captain Ben Lord also excelled with a maiden half century and 3 wickets. Nelson’s pro picked up 5 for 18 and should get plenty of wickets this year.

Harwood's about 10 degrees warmer than Bash.

Has access to this changed?

I was at Littleborough where we were battered by Enfield. Our deputy pro Tom Rogers played more like Ted Rogers. Things can only get better. And as for cold cricket grounds I give you The Pollards home of Oldham CC. Played there in the late Seventies and it snowed. Our pro that year Franklyn Stephenson had never seen snow before. He cried during the tea interval because he couldn't feel his fingers!!

One way to stop Franklyn, he was bloody quick on a warm day.

Franklyn was a top player, he had a season at Greenmount before going on to play in the county championship.

He had a brilliant slower ball. He was a fierce competitor but a gentleman off the field, good golfer too.

Yes, that's the link that I used but it no longer takes you to the excellent Lancs League website. It opens as The ACS Website - The Association of Cricket Statisticians and Historians.
Maybe you can access it through there but if so it's not obvious.
