Great report. That 2 1 defeat in the Cup back in the 60s obviously hurt you as much as it did me!

More passes and more possession than United, we just need one of our forwards to hit a little purple patch infront of goal.

Great to see such a positive report which hasn't always been the case this season.

First visit - Law and Crerand in the last six minutes with Best running round with one boot in his hand setting up the goals. And then I waited, and waited and waited to see us win there. That 2-0 win in 2020 was unbelievably special.

I was there that day with Best running around with one boot on . Different times but the ref should have stopped the game that day for that .
I remember Freddie Smith I think it was backing off a tackle on Best because of him having only one boot on .
Had he tackled him the ref would have blown for a foul probably anyway .
Big club bias has always been there

We got two at the Stretford End in 1973/74, both converted by Taffy. I can't think of one since.

First penalty there since the Leighton James double in 1974, I think.

I was also at that League Cup game in the 60's.
I recall the headline for effect suggesting Best had crossed for Law with his stocking foot, but not the case. A hard defeat to take at the time even if United were a very good side.

Was that in 68 or round about as i went with my dad as my first away game and can remember Best playing with one boot on can't remember much more as i was only a kid..

64/5 Clive. We had played them the week before in the League at Old Trafford as well. Lost that 2-3 and I think David Walker scored 1 of his rare goals.

It was the FA Cup.

Good to have an upbeat report. Thanks. We did very well, and not dead yet. Although as you say, this is not the best United team. They were there for the taking and we really could/should have sewn up 3 points. I just hope we don't regret not doing that

It certainly was. My Dad and I were also there in 73/74 when we were 2 0 and 3 1 up and still contrived to draw. So I'm a bit miffed I decided to watch the 2 0 win on TV after seeing us give up 2 0 leads on my last 2 visits. Ho hum.

FA Cup 5th round in 1964/65 having beaten Brentford and Reading in the previous rounds. We'd played and lost there the week before and the day of the cup tie we were scheduled to play at Ewood in the league. That game was played four days later and we won 4-1.

Lots on here quite rightly saying we need someone to take our chances. I think despite not playing recently Amdouini is the best we have. He looked hungry again when he came on, and was not only brave in leaping for the aerial ball where he got smashed, but incredibly cool with the brilliant penalty he took. For me Fofana was great when he joined but been disappointing in the last 3 or so games. I think Odobert and Larsen as the wide men and Foster and Amdouini as central strikers is a threat for anyone the way we are playing now

Just a shame so many missed out on tickets because the club took a stupid allocation.

Lowest turnout of Burnley fans for a Premier League game there. I’ve understood some of the lower allocations we’ve taken recently but baffled with this one. More so with the number of non Clarets in there.

I really enjoyed Saturday’s match - open ended game, plenty of chances for both teams and edge of your seat stuff all the way up until the final whistle. Characteristics that have been absent from so many games this season. It was my daughter’s first away game and I had to remind her at the end that not all away fixtures are as enthralling as that!

Reading what's been said by some, can't get my head around why the club opted for such a small allocation.
Been an odd season in a few ways.

I think we know the answer to that unfortunately. Money is clearly seen as more important than the fans these days and they didn't want to take the slight risk of losing a small amount of money on unsold tickets, rather than allow as many Burnley fans to attend and help support the team.
