I wouldn't be surprised if ALK/VSL have a small stake, sounds like a parallel (early) AiScout approach, though that technology has moved on substantially

detail on them - anyone any experience finding details on a Transylvanian company?

What is Nordensa?
Nordensa is a platform dedicated to football fans around the world. Here you will be able to partner with us and empower young talent in getting a CHANCE to participate in trials at European football clubs. With your support, they could achieve remarkable success.

Why does Nordensa exist?
Fans need more to cheer for, football teams always need new blood, and talented players need an opportunity to get noticed and a place to be nurtured. That's where Nordensa comes in!

98% of the 5000+ football clubs in the world don't have a proper scouting department to discover young talent. Consequently, many talented, ambitious players, especially from underexplored and underestimated football countries and scouting markets, will ultimately quit their dream of playing professional football. We don't want that to happen.

How do we find players?
We use our World-Class scouting team to find young talented players (18-23 years old) that meet the player profiles shared by football clubs for their open positions. We search all over the world and focus on underprivileged or often overlooked areas. Once we find a player that meets the player profile criteria, we list them on the Nordensa platform.

How do support campaigns work?
For each available player, fans can partner with NORDENSA in a joint venture, and the contribution made by the fans will be used to support the player and provide services to him, including but not limited to covering the player’s expenses during their CHANCE - a trial period with one or more football clubs..

The amount raised from the support campaign will cover the different services to be provided to the player and will also be used to cover the player’s costs (visa, transport to Europe) and trial costs (transport across Europe, meals, accommodation, counseling and assistance provided by world-class scouting and psychology experts).

Each fan can contribute to the partnership with Nordensa as little as €30 for one share. The amount a fan decides to contribute will be proportional to the rewards they are eligible to receive. The only limit on the amount a backer can contribute is the maximum remaining value of the support campaign.

If the contribution goal, as set by Nordensa, is not reached, or if the player decides to pursue other opportunities on his own the support campaign is underway or the contribution goal is reached, all backers – after taking into account the costs incurred - will get their money back.

What are the rewards?
If the player gets signed by a football club at the end of the trial period, the backers, via the joint venture, will be entitled to receive and share amongst them up to 8% of the player’s salary for 5 years, as well as other perks. The rewards a backer is eligible to receive are proportional to the amount they decide to contribute to their partnership with Nordensa.

Each backer’s rewards will be based on the financial contribution to the partnership with Nordensa (joint venture), from the total maximum value of each backing goal. The costs incurred by the partnership between the backer and Nordensa to deliver the services to the player will be deducted from the rewards.

1 share (€30) will entitle a backer to receive a financial reward of about 0,01% of the player’s salary for 5 years. If they make it big during this time, the rewards go up as well.

Let’s consider a possible scenario.
A backed Nordensa Athlete will probably start his journey in a league where the average salary is 25k/year.
Each 1% of this salary equals 250 euros.
After one or two years, he might manage to reach the next level, playing in a league where the average salary is 160k/year.
Now, each 1% of his salary equals 1600 euros.
Then, he might get transferred at a top team and play in a European tournament. His team is in a league where the average salary is 335k/year.
Each 1% of his salary equals 3350 euros.
By the forth or fifth year, if he does really well, he might make it to a top team in a top league, where the average salary is 1,6 mil/year.
This means each 1% of his salary equals 16000 euros.

In the above scenario, 1 share (€30) would entitle you to rewards totaling €214,5.

Up to 8% of the player’s salary, for 5 years, will be shared amongst his backers. Even if the player changes teams during this period.

Backers will also have access to private materials and information about Nordensa players, limited edition merch items, and other surprise perks.

Most importantly, football lovers get to have real influence and ownership in football for the first time.

When do I start getting rewards?
If your backed player gets signed by a football club at the end of the trial period and starts getting paid, the player has an obligation to pay a Service Fee. The profits from the Service Fee, after costs incurred by our partnership (joint venture) to deliver the services to the player, will be distributed to you via the joint-venture through periodic payments based on your contribution as a backer.

The more players you support, the more chances you have to benefit from their success.

What if a player doesn’t get signed?
If the player doesn’t get signed by one of the football clubs he participated in (a) trial(s) at, gets signed by another football club or returns to the club that owns them (i.e. where they played prior to the trial period), backers will not be entitled to receive rewards. The player is at liberty to sign or to not sign with a club where he goes on trial. In similar fashion, a club receiving the backed player on trial has no obligation to offer a contract to the player it receives on trial.

How can I pay?
You pay directly in the app by credit card after creating an account using your email address and entering your personal information. This information will only be used for contract generation purposes. For more details, please see our Privacy Policy.

Your transaction costs applied by the payment processor will be displayed before the purchase.

What about FIFA's third-party ownership and influence rules?
Nordensa will not be involved in the club-to-club or player-club negotiations regarding the signing of a player. These negotiations will strictly be conducted between the involved clubs, players, and their respective licensed agents/representatives. Nordensa does not have any ownership in player registration or economic rights nor influence on the club’s employment-related policies.

Will Nordensa be available in my country?
This is only the beginning. The future of football is here, and more teams will join Nordensa in the next period. Check out the players and support them in getting a CHANCE to impress a European football club!

going strong particularly Ai.IO have a significant contract with MLS and another with the Chelsea Academy, ALK have probably seen their £1m - £1.5m investment (over multiple funding rounds) quadruple in value - it should be noted that Vlad Torgovnik holds a bigger stake in the company, though between them they probably hold around 7% of the non-voting stock, there are quite a few American funds invested in them. Also the company took out a loan last summer (rather than go through another funding round) that can be converted into share capital down the line.

So it’s like a GoFundMe for the player and the reward for contributing is a % of his future earnings.

Interestingly third party ownership of a players economic rights is illegal under FIFA rules and indeed in the European Union

We could yet again up with players who are just not up to it, but there are vested interests overriding the actual needs of the team.

How likely is it that you will help unearth the next 18-year-old from some underrepresented country who will go on to earn $1.6m a year? The poor kid is living the dream while being fleeced by 'fans' creaming off his wages.

"98% of the 5000+ football clubs in the world don't have a proper scouting department to discover young talent" - What? Really? Is anyone going to make any money back from a player who signs with a club outside... say, the best 500 clubs in the world? The reason those clubs don't have a scouting system is that they can't afford a working fridge in their clubhouse!

Do yourself a favour. Instead of investing in this, come to my house, and you can chuck your money on my barbecue instead. At least you'll get a burger in return.

I remember reading about this a while ago, seemed a bit strange. Like Chester I wondered about third party ownership but obviously they are very definite that this isn't third party ownership. Quite unclear about how it's enforced though.

If 98% of 5,000 clubs don't have a proper scouting department, then only 100 do have a proper scouting department. 100 clubs worldwide. Twaddle.

If there is any possibility of discovering Lionel Messi among 18-23 year olds in obscure leagues, a return of 7x investment seems stingy. And that's best case.
