Eye surgery

Post by basil6345789 » Fri May 03, 2024 5:04 pm

With the onset of old gimmerism I need a cateract op. Been given the choice of; Burnley General, Spar at Preston and Chec at Accy. Same procedure, different waiting times. Anyone had any experience, please?

I've had laser surgery at Burnley Gen, went OK, no complaints at all.

Chances are it's the same doctors doing it, wherever you have it.

I had my cataract operation at Westmorland General in Kendal in 2020, but last year it clouded over ( a common thing to happen ), and I had it corrected at Spa Medica in Preston.
Very quick and efficient. I thoroughly recommend them.

I had to pay to get new lenses, as I just had bad eyesight. Worth every penny. I can see!

I'd both my Cataracts done at the same time in January, at Chec in Accrington, with little waiting time, before my Op. The whole procedure was clockwork, plus free on site parking,
After the Operation I found I had changes in colours I see. IE Black is Navy Blue, Claret is Plumb and Red is Browny Orange. Plus I've dry eyes, which require drops, to avoid blurry vision. But all in, my sight is a lot better than before the Op.

I had my second cataract done at Spa Medica in Bedford about 2 years ago.

I was very impressed with their professionalism and being put at ease and made very welcome.

And most importantly the op was a total success

And the pre op and post op care was second to none

Just had mine done at Chec on Wednesday, still waiting for my vision to clear. I went in for the measure up last Wed and had the op this wed!
I was told that Chec was the one to go to. Hope to "see" a win for the Clarets today. Hope all goes well for you.

Had 6 eye lots of eye surgery at BGH so far (2 cataract, 4 retinal detachment/glaucoma related) most recently in February this year.

In my experience, the nursing and surgical teams there are superb.

Hope all goes well for you wherever you choose to go.

Thanks, sounds good but 8 to 9 months waiting time at Burnley, so may go elsewhere.
Thanks everyone else too.

My wife has just had cataract surgery on both eyes at SpaMedica, Preston 5 weeks apart. Couldn't recommend enough 👌
